Clear Tutorial for Noobs?

Hey guys! I'm new to WWE 2K15 mod usage and stuff. So I thought I'd start off with an NXT main menu mod! (It's awesome trust me. By JAYMEETEE). And I lost all my save data! I even tried undoing it and the undo was successful but all my save data was gone!

Well, getting the save back would be great but that's not a big deal. A tutorial on how to install these simple mods would be good. I tried replacing files and I lost my save.
