Good work chaps, but as good as this work is I feel that you should at least be sharing your knowledge on how to do things for people that might be interested in doing arenas too. From a personal perspective this thread comes off as quite arrogant, though don't take that as an attack I think what you're doing is top quality work, I really dig the old school era ring - I just feel that if knowledge of something is gained, it should be then shared immediately to help progress community development.

Absolutely, you should know this by my other threads that explain everything in great detail. The reason we cannot share this yet is because there are some issues we are working out to make sure nothing gets damaged in the process.

If you must know, we have been able to create custom pac files for the game and insert them in. There is some hex editing involved though and this is the part that needs a little bit more testing before we release a "how-to".

I have already released most info of how this is done in my other threads or threads I have commented on.

EDIT::

If anyone is interested in working with us, feel free to PM me and we can discuss it. We could use a little more help as this is a big project.

Actually these guys I can easily say are the least arrogant, most user-friendly of everyone. It's quite clear from these posts and their other posts, they have absolutely no ego. Not quite sure where you see any arrogance, as I don't see even an ounce of it.

2K should hire these guys.

Stop throwing around the "2k should hire these guys" phrases. Being nice, user friendly and posting the usual arena edits(just until they figure out full stage model edits and such) doesn't really warrant a "hire these guys" comment. I feel this modding community(not smacktalks, just the wrestling modding community) overuses that statement every chance they get. Every time a mod gets posted someone says "hire these guys". It's an overused statement.

And yes, it is arrogant of someone to figure out a way to mod something but not disclose the method in doing so for the public. Especially when your posting the mods publicly. Typically when that happens there afraid someone is gonna make something ten times better then them or afraid someone's gonna steal there mod idea and out do them. And I'm not discounting your work, it's impressive. I'm certainly following this project.

Afraid someone make something better? What do I care? Here is an idea, we are busy working on this and do not have time to fully create a tutorial which will need to be done in order to understand it. We are still testing things so we are not releasing the "how to" until I know it does not corrupt the game, some users do not back up and I don't want them trying this until I know it is easy to follow.

If I am arrogant, I hate to see what you call others. And posts like that are counter productive, honestly, even though your last statement was better, you made me not wanna share a bit of info with you. And for your information, we are compiling lists and creating templates to make it easier for you guys, why post anything like that? I do not understand.

I have to come to the defence of TheBleedingRed21 here, give the guys a chance to iron out the bugs and figure out all the details before they write up a tutorial.

These things take time.

Trust me, things having been breaking on us left and right. The past few days have been like trying to put out a brush fire. New issues keep popping up once one is solved. There is a lot of trial and error at this stage of things. That's why, if you notice, Most of our preview arenas are running in the Raw or SD slots. We are still figuring a lot of things out and trying to get everything to play nicely together while simultaneously trying to create textures and balance life and work.

I apologize if expecting a little patience from everyone here makes me arrogant. I apologize for having an average of three hours a sleep a night for the last week. And I apologize for trying to create something incredibly substantive for the group.

To those of you who have been supportive of us I sincerely appreciate your support and here's hoping we can not only deliver a cool mod but also come up with a system that facilitates even cooler mods from all of you in the future.  :)

there is no need to rush.

Well, great news fellas, testing has proven to be quite successful, we have ironed out some kinks and I feel I made a pretty clear (and lengthy!) tutorial.

I am having LordJustice17 overlook it and will hopefully get it to you guys sometime tomorrow! I will make a NEW THREAD when I post it.

I do not explain everything we did because this would make a book ;D but it does give you the foundation to do everything and anything yourself.

This took me a long time to write as well as us figuring (and still figuring) this stuff out. Please understand I cannot physically explain every step, but if you follow my guide, you can do anything we have done + more.

With all this work we have put in and continue to put in we do ask that you give back in the form of helping us uncover more things to edit! Simply take these steps, find some cool things that are not done yet (arena edits WOULD BE HUGE) and share it with the community, please do not take our work and keep to yourself, share as we have shared with you! That is all we ask in return :D

Until the post, thanks for all the support so far and look forward to hopefully getting it to you guys tomorrow sometime!

great work on all those rings, looking forward to see what you'll show us next :D

What really irks me is guys coming to the forum who are constantly complaining and moaning. What you guys need to realize is that these people are not obligated to create and release mods for you. Anyone who has created mods or written up tutorials will know how time consuming it can be and finding time to do this in addition to going to work and facing life's challenges is not easy. Further to which, the people who are complaining have not released any mods or written any tutorials. This is meant to be a modding community, and a community is about giving and taking. Start creating mods of your own and sharing these with community and you will have a new found appreciation for the work of others.

@TheBleedingRed21, sorry to go off topic in your thread. You guys are doing some awesome work here. It's good to see modders taking modding to another level :)

Damn those rings look outstanding. Great job!

TUTORIAL GUIDE should be up sometime today I would expect. Both TheBleedingRed21 and I have revised it, and I've sent it back to him for final revisions.

Posted

These rings look awesome! But is there any way to convert old stages from the old WWE Games? (specifically Nitro)

Also, any chance of fire floormats on the nitro arena?

Posted

Awesome job on the old school rings! Thanks for the effort you guys put in.

Posted

We are trying to figure out how to modify the stages and arena geometry right now. We've had minimal luck so far and could use all the help we can get in that regard.

As for the fire floormats I would say that it is probably unlikely. The way they seem to work is that there is a floormat texture that is just repeated over and over again. It isn't one big mat, so it would be hard to add the flames like they are in the nitro arena. We still haven't fully cracked the floormat situation though, so you never know what we might find.

Posted

I'd say once the geometry on the arenas are cracked, the fire becomes a possibility by rotating each respective pad to make the fire line up accurate. It'd be a ton of work though.

For me, I'd love to see the light blue pads they used to have, or even plywood.

Great work fellas.

Posted

The blue pads should come one way or another. If we can't figure out how to make them they should come in DLC.

I'd also like to make concrete for the ECW arena.

TUTORIAL HAS BEEN POSTED.

Awesome work guys. Love that ECW ring!
