LeonRick Posted May 11, 2015 Author Posted May 11, 2015 Yes it is dds format but its in dx10 Is there plugin for it ? Quote
LordJustice17 Posted May 11, 2015 Posted May 11, 2015 I've had trouble with certain DDS files as well. Most are fine but certain ones won't open with GIMP or Paint.net. Gimp says something to the effect of "DXGI unsupported". What software have you used used, and did you install the respective plugins? Quote
kaijones Posted May 11, 2015 Posted May 11, 2015 Man will have to ask senior members for dx10 support. Let me first google for it. Quote

kaijones Posted May 11, 2015 Posted May 11, 2015 Just asked rocky and his reaction was priceless. He doesn't have any information regarding dx10 version. The new version of gimp advertises dx10 support , leon have u checked gimp yet? Quote
LordJustice17 Posted May 11, 2015 Posted May 11, 2015 I use gimp and I can't open certain DDS files even with the plugin installed (usually the ones that say AO in the name it seems). Quote
LeonRick Posted May 11, 2015 Author Posted May 11, 2015 Yes I already tried it but it didn't work Quote
LeonRick Posted May 11, 2015 Author Posted May 11, 2015 I read somewhere that Xnview opens dds with dx10 header. Quote
LordJustice17 Posted May 11, 2015 Posted May 11, 2015 Tried Xnview and it worked. Images are strange though. The one you uploaded is Shawn Michaels I would say, but he's made of all these grey and neon colored pixels. Quote
TheBleedingRed21 Posted May 11, 2015 Posted May 11, 2015 Good deal Bannockburn! Much appreciated. Does anyone know how to open the image editor in visual studios? Quote

LordJustice17 Posted May 12, 2015 Posted May 12, 2015 Visual Studio from Microsoft will open the DX10 DDS files properly (not pixelated or strange colors). There is a free "Community" edition that does the trick. https://www.visualstudio.com/en-us/visual-studio-homepage-vs.aspx Quote
