Elliot Posted May 8, 2015 Posted May 8, 2015 I've just tried opening my .yobj file in 3DS Max 2011, but it's not doing anything. I left it a while as I thought it may be just loading but it isn't. It's as if I never loaded anything. I uncompressed the .zlib files from Daniel Bryan's .pac and I renamed 0000.zlib to 0000.yobj. Is that correct? The plugin kicked in anyway asking if I wanted to import the whole folder, so it's obviously reading something, but nothing's loading. Any help? Quote
OverTheEdge Posted May 8, 2015 Posted May 8, 2015 It probably was still loading it. How long did you let it go for? Took me like 20 minutes to load one of the PC models up for the first time (like one of the wrestlers--not the referee or ring announcers, etc.) due the number of bones it has. 3DS Max even acted like it was crashing, but it will load things. If it was behaving like that, then I'd totally understand it. But it's not running slow or anything like most programs would when they're trying to load big files. It's just working as if I haven't touched it, haha. I'll give it another go and just leave it, but I honestly think it's just not reacting for some reason. Quote

Mine totally locks up until it's done. Maybe an obvious question, but you have brienj's plugin to import the YOBJ's, yeah? Quote

Because when I select the .yobj file, the message from brienj's tool pops up where he's like "R.I.P THQ" etc, etc and then it says "Do you wish to open all model files in the folder?". I've tried both yes and no with the same result. Wanting to cry haha. Quote
OverTheEdge Posted May 8, 2015 Posted May 8, 2015 That's working as it should. Don't know why nothing would be loading up, though. Re-read your first post and when you uncompress the 0000.YOBJ, you don't want to rename the .zlib one, but the .uncompressed one--at least, off the top of my head, I believe that's where you could be going wrong. So... let's just pretend this topic doesn't exist and I'm not an idiot, yeah? Haha, that was it. I had renamed the wrong file which is why it wasn't loading. Thanks for your common sense, OTE! Quote
OverTheEdge Posted May 8, 2015 Posted May 8, 2015 Yeah, that was it? Haha, no worries! Glad to be able to be able to help you out with that, man. Quote

Ok so where do you put Brien J's import file in 3DS MAx 2011? I'm only asking cause I put it into plugs folder but I can't access it when I fire up 3DS Max Edited June 14, 2015 by WwfFan78 Quote
AlcLegacy Posted June 14, 2015 Posted June 14, 2015 Here's a tip to get pass the obnoxious load time. Just export all the .obj files and work on what you need, instant load times. Quote
