jcsix Posted June 7, 2015 Posted June 7, 2015 Titan, as you seen, the new method can quickly get us superstars.. Why spend weeks working on one wrestler when we can quickly do it this way and have a full roster way before another version comes? The old way looks good but takes so long, we still don't have any fully done yet. Awesome work as always Tekken Quality > Quantity. 1 Quote
STGuy321 Posted June 7, 2015 Posted June 7, 2015 Each his own. I don't mind them. It's not about graphics at all for me. Also, I could never ever make the model the way these guys have with Goldberg etc. This would be the only way I could remotely contribute to wrestlers. Lol Totally agree BR21! Quote

That's all i'm saying. If I want older models, I'm going to play on last gen. You have to remember, a year ago, everybody was damning last gen to hell because of how bad some of the models were. The quality was terrible, can't wait for next gen, f*ck last gen etc, etc. Us console modders spent the best part of that year making last gen playable again. Now you're able to import those old models into next gen, they're suddenly not so bad after all? In the time it's going to take you to make an old model completely playable and bug free on next gen, you might as well have created a high poly version using a base from PC. Personally I see the potential in using the older models for future use. If we tessellate the low polys and the then tweak from there we could do some incredible updates that can rival the next gen models all without reinventing the wheel. Yup. They go hand in hand. Quote

It irritates me when people tell you they don’t care for quality, when they have 15lbs of the latest gaming tech sitting beside them. There’s a reason you own a gaming PC, and it isn't to play Limbo of the Lost.. I still don’t know why everybody seems to be in such a hurry? I know for a fact, that some of you won’t create you’re own guys from high poly bases because you think it takes too long. But I can guarantee you will all happily wait until somebody can tessellate the low poly models into high poly models that rival the PC ones, and iron out all the bugs.. Hopefully this is not the case!I am too busy with my conversion mod to help with wrestlers so hopefully others will join in with you guys. I love it, but I am saying not everyone can do what you guys are doing, this method allows others help out a little I believe.@Titan, I hope you are not referring to me at all in your post.. I am busy creating something else with just 1 other guy that no one else is really doing..For the record, I want you guys to make the best quality possible obviously, I am just trying to stress the reason people are not helping is because they prolly cannot. I know I do not have the time or the patience to do them.. I think this glitch will help others start helping if that makes sense. Edited June 7, 2015 by TheBleedingRed21 Quote
baken1942 Posted June 7, 2015 Posted June 7, 2015 I've got $10 if someone will bring over Vader from 13. Lol. I am with you, if people can start putting together "packs" from older games, I have no issues donating some money for these. That'd be incredible! Quote
kim666 Posted June 7, 2015 Posted June 7, 2015 (edited) I'd rather have 1 incredible new wrestler (preferably Kurt Angle) than a 100 quick-and-dirty wrestlers. These "quick-and-dirty wrestlers" are still 100 times better then any caw. Edited June 7, 2015 by kim666 2 Quote

If it feels like a chore, it's time to stop. I wasn't referring to anyone specifically, It's just the last few comments have all been about how nobody has time, and how everything takes too long and that you guys need Wrestlers now. In a few months time, you'll probably have another release. a year later, another. you're Roster is only going to get better and better as time goes on. Edited June 7, 2015 by Titan83 Quote

LordJustice17 Posted June 7, 2015 Posted June 7, 2015 Seriously everyone, get back on topic and stop with the pot shots. Opinion is not fact no matter how you swing it. Different strokes for different folks and whatnot. Quote

You totally did not understand a word I said. Why bicker anymore? Let's both stop posting about this and just enjoy what we got. Thanks! Quote
Titavius Posted June 7, 2015 Posted June 7, 2015 who's bickering? it's a good topic, and it's relevant to what Tekken posted with regards to his discovery. I'm sure Tekken appreciates everybody's take on it, as he's always been a constant when it comes putting out quality models. there's no need to get all antsy, as my opinion is as valid as anybody elses. i'm sure we'll see some amazing things come from this, no doubt. just being able to use hair models from last gen is a huge bonus! bugsyboy Posted June 7, 2015 Posted June 7, 2015 (edited) Congrats to Bannockburn and Tekken for this huge step forward. I cant believe the hair yobj is so huge that you can inject the whole wrestler yobj in it. As much as this is a great step foward and without taking away from what as been accomplish i have to agree that Tekken Goldberg is the way to go. Sure i would love to have everything we did on last gen import to pc but seeing the difference now I dont see the point of having low poly models in a high poly game without emotion on top of it. You better off staying in 14/15 then. When the emotion will be fix on the new models edits thats when it will be taken to the next level. Edited June 7, 2015 by bugsyboy Quote
STGuy321 Posted June 7, 2015 Posted June 7, 2015 It's a huge step forward. And I appreciate everyone's contribution. It's a collaborative effort imo, and all the little pieces add up. Quote

I did wanna address you before I drop out, this is what I was saying. Maybe I just came across different. I know you guys wil do awesome things, just thought that glitch was a great opportunity for other modders that are intimated by 3D. Never meant it as let's abandon other way at all. I value your opinion and believe it or not, I agree. I was just trying to suggest what I did a second ago. I guess you guys took it wrong. No worries though buddy. We all just want the best game we can get. I'm sorry if I came off any other way. Quote
TheBirdSolution Posted June 7, 2015 Posted June 7, 2015 I find myself agreeing with Titan alot, the way forward for this scene seems to be in the progression of editing the new models, much like Goldberg and the original Steiner, which I kinda think looks better. Not to discredit Tek at all, this does represent a huge step in terms of modding, being able to import the head of let's say, a Sin Cara, or anyone with a super unique head morph from last gen is amazing, and will be super useful in the future. Just not in the case of old Scotty I don't think. But still, it's an awesome feature, that will lead to cool things. Oh, and because this thread needs something light-hearted right now, bonus points to anyone who gives Steiner his shitty new "ribcage" back tattoo. Dude looks like a walking graffiti wall. And not even a good one. Quote
LeonRick Posted June 7, 2015 Posted June 7, 2015 (edited) Really nice discovery hope we can use older games models in PC soon. I don't have any of the last gen Consol's so this is great news for me. Edited June 7, 2015 by LeonRick Quote
AlcLegacy Posted June 7, 2015 Posted June 7, 2015 So, I have a question that may have been answered but I haven't seen an answer, but how did you "sculpt" these models? Did you edit Ingame models by using the vertices in 3ds max or something? Quote

You can use 3ds max/ blender to sculpt as well as topogun and I'm sure plenty of other programs, me personally I use Zbrush because it's easier to sculpt the models (at least to me). Quote
