Red Rooster Posted May 17, 2015 Author Posted May 17, 2015 (edited) I used the text strings that just show on the Unlockables screen, they arent the actual attire names, thats why I picked those strings. All this info is in the tutorial..... I know this.. I just am trying to ask clarifying questions as it's not making sense. Thanks for the help 4) I have chosen to replace the text that is the names for the various unlockables on the Unlockables Screen of the options. These are strings 69DC - 6A53 in 0000. There are many more strings we can use but these are easy to find and will only effect the screen shown below. Edited May 18, 2015 by Red Rooster Quote
Cave Waverider Posted May 17, 2015 Posted May 17, 2015 The has been released. Red Rooster, if you think it might be helpful to link it in the tutorial, feel free to do so. Ill link it but I dont really see the point of this file. Im fairly sure people will want to give attires unique names which will require them to edit the misc01_start themselves. Also they will end up with 10 attires for pac files that dont have 10 attires yet which will just cause confusion but ok...... Thanks! It's mostly meant for those newbies that aren't really modders but just players without an understanding or desire for hex editing themselves (yeah, there are a bunch out there) or changing attire names yet want to enjoy playing with the mods. Once they are annoyed enough by not having custom attire names, I'm sure many will head to this tutorial and learn how to do it properly themselves. Perhaps I should add an encouragement to do so in the readme for the next revision. Quote

Yeah you are right hopefully it will inspire people to look into how it works, Im just worried this kind of thing promotes people to be lazy and not try things themselves. Attempting something and failing is a much more valuable learning lesson than having someone do it for you. Quote
LordBird Posted May 18, 2015 Posted May 18, 2015 the 10 attires each is going to be helpful for those who had problems, i like learning stuff so i will keep for now with the one from this post. Quote

Cave Waverider Posted June 2, 2015 Posted June 2, 2015 (edited) Looks like the post-DLC version of the game uses a different file to determine the status of unlocked alternate attires or different values to unlock them. Does anybody have a clue how to do this with the latest version of the game? Every DLC sub-folder now comes with it's own misc01_start_dlcXX.pac and misc02_ingame_dlcXX.pac as well as other files. They're all really small, however. Changing the main misc01_Start.pac file doesn't seem to have any effect when it comes to unlocking alternate attires anymore. Using fc to compare the vanilla misc01_Start.pac from the original release with the one from the DLC does yield the following differences (probably no use anyhow, since one would have to compare the hex values):C:\>fc "S:\Spiele\Steam\SteamApps\common\WWE 2K15\pac\misc01_Start.pac" "Y:\Ande res\Downloads\Internet\misc01_Start.pac" Comparing files S:\SPIELE\STEAM\STEAMAPPS\COMMON\WWE 2K15\PAC\misc01_Start.pac a nd Y:\ANDERES\DOWNLOADS\INTERNET\MISC01_START.PAC ***** S:\SPIELE\STEAM\STEAMAPPS\COMMON\WWE 2K15\PAC\misc01_Start.pac ░è ***** Y:\ANDERES\DOWNLOADS\INTERNET\MISC01_START.PAC ═è ***** ***** S:\SPIELE\STEAM\STEAMAPPS\COMMON\WWE 2K15\PAC\misc01_Start.pac Ôè ***** Y:\ANDERES\DOWNLOADS\INTERNET\MISC01_START.PAC ▓è ***** ***** S:\SPIELE\STEAM\STEAMAPPS\COMMON\WWE 2K15\PAC\misc01_Start.pac ╝è ***** Y:\ANDERES\DOWNLOADS\INTERNET\MISC01_START.PAC ╗è ***** ***** S:\SPIELE\STEAM\STEAMAPPS\COMMON\WWE 2K15\PAC\misc01_Start.pac ¥è ***** Y:\ANDERES\DOWNLOADS\INTERNET\MISC01_START.PAC ╩è ***** ***** S:\SPIELE\STEAM\STEAMAPPS\COMMON\WWE 2K15\PAC\misc01_Start.pac )îh↑:<@♀☺, └ë►2ð ü☼░Õ‼►► ***** Y:\ANDERES\DOWNLOADS\INTERNET\MISC01_START.PAC )îh↑:,@♀☺, └ë►2└☺ ü☼ õ‼►► ***** ***** S:\SPIELE\STEAM\STEAMAPPS\COMMON\WWE 2K15\PAC\misc01_Start.pac jsn J☺ ***** Y:\ANDERES\DOWNLOADS\INTERNET\MISC01_START.PAC jsn G☺ ***** ***** S:\SPIELE\STEAM\STEAMAPPS\COMMON\WWE 2K15\PAC\misc01_Start.pac "Advertisement":-1, "CornerPost":10, "Rope":5, "Apron":36, "Turnbuckle":2, "Barricade":-1, ***** Y:\ANDERES\DOWNLOADS\INTERNET\MISC01_START.PAC "Advertisement":-1, "CornerPost":0, "Rope":0, "Apron":0, "Turnbuckle":0, "Barricade":-1, ***** ***** S:\SPIELE\STEAM\STEAMAPPS\COMMON\WWE 2K15\PAC\misc01_Start.pac "CeilingLighting":-1, "Spotlight":10, "Stairs":2, "CommentarySeat":-1, ***** Y:\ANDERES\DOWNLOADS\INTERNET\MISC01_START.PAC "CeilingLighting":-1, "Spotlight":0, "Stairs":0, "CommentarySeat":-1, ***** ***** S:\SPIELE\STEAM\STEAMAPPS\COMMON\WWE 2K15\PAC\misc01_Start.pac "RingMat":0, "FloorMattress":1, "Crowd":-1, ***** Y:\ANDERES\DOWNLOADS\INTERNET\MISC01_START.PAC "RingMat":0, "FloorMattress":0, "Crowd":-1, ***** ***** S:\SPIELE\STEAM\STEAMAPPS\COMMON\WWE 2K15\PAC\misc01_Start.pac { ***** Y:\ANDERES\DOWNLOADS\INTERNET\MISC01_START.PAC { ***** ***** S:\SPIELE\STEAM\STEAMAPPS\COMMON\WWE 2K15\PAC\misc01_Start.pac RNP/FCKUWMG9 ***** Y:\ANDERES\DOWNLOADS\INTERNET\MISC01_START.PAC FUP/UJKJQ9/24 ***** ***** S:\SPIELE\STEAM\STEAMAPPS\COMMON\WWE 2K15\PAC\misc01_Start.pac 172.17.120.89 ***** Y:\ANDERES\DOWNLOADS\INTERNET\MISC01_START.PAC 172.17.121.132 ***** ***** S:\SPIELE\STEAM\STEAMAPPS\COMMON\WWE 2K15\PAC\misc01_Start.pac Ô£÷T ***** Y:\ANDERES\DOWNLOADS\INTERNET\MISC01_START.PAC ¸ÏÉT ***** C:\> New files in main /pac folder: com_pf4.pac mot_pf5.pac File with different sizes post DLC compared to pre-DLC in the main /pac folder: mot02.pac mot03.pac mot04.pac mot05.pac mot06.pac sound.pac string.pac ysh.pac Not sure if any of the above could be the difference. TheBleedingRed21 Posted June 2, 2015 Posted June 2, 2015 Hmmm. The original start_misc has all the DLC arenas set properly. I assume we can just leave our main strings/misc in but that is interesting they have their own misc.. hmm.. Quote
kim666 Posted June 2, 2015 Posted June 2, 2015 On PS360 it is the "misc01_start_dlc60.pac" file, i think it is the same on PC. And "string_pw2.pac" is for the strings. Quote

Thanks, I'd assume so as well. What would I have to do to add the code for 10 alt attires for all 100 wrestlers over to the misc01_start_dlc60.pac file without destroying it's intergrity and not messing up any of the DLC arenas, etc.? I assume I'll need the file offset where the section begins (at COS) and the one where it ends. Is there anything that identifies the end? Also, I assume I need to change offsets somewhere to expand the file. Where are those located? I'm trying to understand how these misc files work. Edited June 2, 2015 by Cave Waverider Quote
Cave Waverider Posted June 3, 2015 Posted June 3, 2015 (edited) Hm, I've spent the last couple of hours trying to update the misc01_start_dlc60.pac to hold 10 alternate attires for 100 wrestlers as my old misc01_start.pac, but so far I'm only getting the game to crash when starting the game with the modded .pac. I guess it's really hard to do this without Xpacker, which I sadly don't have. I've also tried the 92 wrestler version of misc01_start_dlc60.pac from the PS3, but that crashes the game, too. If anybody with more experience changing these misc files to hold more wrestler slots would like to lend a hand, it'd be most appreciated, as I'm at a loss at the moment. Cave Waverider Posted June 5, 2015 Posted June 5, 2015 (edited) While I was working on the updated version of the version compatible with the DLC update is up now, by the way!), i noticed that some wrestlers' alternate attires are affected by changes in \DLC60\pac\misc01_start_dlc60.pac only, while others are affected by changes in \pac\misc01_Start.pac. Oddly enough, some DLC wrestlers appear to be affected by misc01_Start.pac only, while some wrestlers from the original game version are now affected by misc01_start_dlc60.pac only. I'll toy around with both these files a bit and see if it may be possible to increase the number of wrestlers with alternate attires by spreading them over both files. TheBleedingRed21 Posted June 5, 2015 Posted June 5, 2015 I keep getting crashes sadly.. Sucks too because I had all the wrestlers with fake attires fixed and all named properly.. lol I like the idea of the universal attire, but not the wrestlemania name. I might just download it and fix it all again Cheers for getting that to work! Quote
LouEvil76 Posted June 5, 2015 Posted June 5, 2015 I have X-Packer, My problem is I'm so new that I'm trying to learn a lot in a little bit of time. I got my Kevin Nash to work but I am unable to change the names just yet. I couldn't fix sting just yet either. I'm playing xpacker and the misc01_start_dlc60.pac, wish I knew how to help... Quote
Refat Posted June 27, 2015 Posted June 27, 2015 I followed the tutorial and had success unlocking alt attires. Recently I have been using Jeff Hardy mod by bravebird. As I don't have xpacker I replaced Tony Chimel (HOP). But when I try to unlock Jeff's alt attires using this method it don't work as it supposed to be. There are 10 attires in select screen, but no matter which attire I select, the game always loads the default attire. I tried to unlock only 3 attires also. But the result is the same. Yes I edited the misc01_start_dlc60.pac also but no luck. Am I doing something wrong? Can anyone help please? Quote

In your case Del Rio has already extra attire unlocked in the game, so it's no surprise your hardy has 3 attires unlocked. You have to unlock the rest of the attires by following this tutorial. Problem is I already done that, but no success so far. 1 Quote
GerryKeogh Posted June 28, 2015 Posted June 28, 2015 Hi there, I'm quite new in all this modding section of wwe2k... well... the whole ting's new, huh? anyways... id i get it right: this tutorial gives me the opportunity to give wrestlers more alternative attire without using my 50 caw slots? and did I get it right, that I need xpacker for this, which... costs 14$? Or are there any alternative programms? Quote
