To all 2k15 modders

@Taker Are you extracting the pach files(ie 00010102.pach) and inserting them into the pac(ie 102.pac)? Or are you extracting something out of the pach file? Because I've tried inserting a 2k15 pach file into a 2k14 pac file(with HBK & Retro Kane) & I get the same error as discussed in the topic.

If that's the case, then try extracting and injecting the individual parts from the PACH.

Its not exactly difficult...I give a clue on how I am doing it by showing that I am injecting the models and textures and it's working for the most part...its a simple process of elimination..

Injecting pac files is the basic modding element you learn...so I will not provide a tutorial for it...

Have a go and learn something instead of leaving it up to the veterans of the scene to work it out..

I've been lurking round these forums recently and you know, I could have sworn someone has deleted every single last effing tutorial we ever had? what happened to the Index, Rooster? And what's up with the forum? did someone go and delete the search function too?

Ok, I've successfully gotten HBK's summerslam outfit to work. There was a issue with the 000a file. I had to extract the files then inject them into a 2k14 000a file, then the glitch went away. I can't guarantee that this method will work for all of the models but it's what worked on that HBK. I'll try retro Kane next.

Ok so I understand the aversion to 'noobs' asking things like "why i cant load jeff hardy wit my new ps3 i just bot?  does i need somethin else to make deez modz werk?"

DISCLAIMER:  Much of the following commentary is specifically targeted at the PS3 modding community.

But even though I understand the kneejerk reaction to morons/kids asking ridiculous questions, there are also issues such as these '2k15 models into 2k14' that have pitfalls without many clearly laid out instructions for folks who aren't always your 'run-of-the-mill noobs' and may still confuse even the more experienced and observant user.  In no way would I consider myself to by an experienced modder as I only really delved deep during the SVR11 season, but I'm also not a complete idiot having worked in IT and tech support for hardware companies such as HP and software companies such as Intuit.

Even so, there are some issues with modding 2k14 such as this one that still evade me.  I may be outing myself as an oblivious, idiotic noob, but I don't see any clearly laid out instructions for several tasks such as the one in this thread.  Sure...ideally we should all strive to take the time to start from scratch and learn from the grass-roots how to do each and everything and we should all experiment to see what works and what does not.  Yes, that would be ideal and awesome.  But practically speaking, that doesn't work.  Some of us (myself included) don't feasibly have the time with work/family schedules to fully implement the practice of experimentation with .pac files and what may or may not work with Xpacker.

You have a guy like me who seriously wants to contribute and has shown experience with modding previously and has at least minimal graphic arts skills as well as a huge passion for old school wrestling, but who is encountering big blockades from fully enjoying the possibilities of modding such and experiencing a deep learning curve since SVR11 and an inability (perhaps my fault) to locate adequate tutorials to bring me up to speed in order to contribute at the level that would actually be beneficial to the community.  I see a lot of comments telling folks that they need to basically 'pay their dues' to understand all the intricacies and layers of modding.  As someone who's day job is in a position of authority who asks employees on a daily basis to take the time to study company material and fully engross themselves in our methodologies, I respect the position of long time modders here.

But some of us want to contribute but simply do not have the time or patience (especially as parents) to try to decipher allusions to tasks that worked in previous games or how to read between the lines of several pages in a thread when someone asks a question which is followed by several members berating them for their lack of knowledge, which is then followed up by someone delivering the sum of hyrographical text referring to some basic knowledge that 'everyone should already know and if you don't then you're a complete fucking moron and go away...and oh yeah I forgot to add...FUCK YOU."

I'm telling you now...and I'm sure you already know this but it's worth repeating.  The modding community could reap great benefits if only there were more "idiot's guides" for morons like me who have a great desire to learn and contribute but simply do not have the time to "test" and "try out" hours/days/weeks/months before contributing something that's worth a shit.

Most of the content of this post is not directly aligned to this post having to do with how to go about translating 2k15 models into 2k14, but I think (or hope) some folks get the point that not everyone is an idiot and some of us truly want to contribute but may need an extra little "Idiot's Guide" for some schtuff.

EDIT: And back on topic after my bitchy little rant...no, I do not understand how to make these 2k15 models work.  I see the 000A models in Xpacker, but I have no idea what I'm specifically supposed to do with them.  Thanks in advance for any help.  :)

Thats halfway true, But meanwhile we get more "noob" tutorials since the release of the pc version. But i think we could have a better index, we have tutorials that work on all systems (pc,ps3,360), some only on one system or only on old or new gen.

tekken's basic texture modding tutorial for pc works on ps360 too. And it explains that the 000a file has the textures. To get a 2k15 model working in 2k14, you need to extract a 000a file from a ps3 2k14 pach file and the 000a file from the 2k15 model you want in 2k14, then extract everything from this file and inject it back into the 000a file from the 2k14 file.

Kim, a lot of it has to do with substance but also a matter of style.  You see, someone such as yourself (and Tekken) seem open to fielding "stupid" questions from people like me who consider themselves to be fairly intelligent but not entirely well-versed in modern modding-oligy and I can say personally that I appreciate it greatly.  Now I just hope I have enough time and patience to navigate the waters of translating what works on PC vs. PS3 vs. 360.  I may not succeed, but I fully appreciate the style you use in presenting links, knowledge, etc.

EDIT:  I will investigate the link you've shared but in the midst of attempting to fully grasp the concepts will likely fail and then give up for another week or two until I have more time off from work to really ''get it".  I've been round and round for months translating things from 360 to PS3 and have failed multiple times although I've followed instructions to the "T".  So I will say thank you for the link now but will most likely be back asking for more help here in a week or two, perhaps even a month.  My wish is that the PS3 modding community would grow in order to necessitate more PS3-specific tutorials for idiots like me.  I'm sorry I'm such a numbskull.  I deal with complex issues on a daily basis at my job but nothing makes me feel like more of a moron that modding this game on PS3.  lol

I wish I could help, I know you are a long standing, well respected person in the field of Wrestling games and I certainly wouldnt consider you a noob. Unfortunately Im 360 only so any of the idiosyncrasies of the PS3 are beyond me. UndertakerWLF, Kim666 and LordBarker are your men.

P.S. Koolgus who started this thread is a fucking rude asshat thats why no one ever helps him

You've always come across as a rude prick whenever I see you post and you seem to feel like everyone owes you something even thought you have never contributed anything.

My opinion and I stand by it.

Well that was never my intention in any way sorry if I offended you. I mean I know I ask alot of question and stuff but never did I feel like anyone owed me anything yes I have contributed maybe not as much as you and others but small contrition counts as well search me or something here and you'll see.I've tried modding tuts and stuff but I always screw something up so I ask a question sorry If I'm not as smart ass you and can pick up on things easily but this Is why I try and stray away from asking questions publicly you and others not all but others feel the need to act higher class to the slow learning modders and act like dicks redirecting them to tuts instead of more indept answers.I know you might think this is just my oponion but youd be suprised the amount of POPULAR MODDERS TODAY FEEL THE SAME WAY ABOUT YOU AND MANY THAT I HAVE SPOKEN WITH IN PM'S

That may be true but I know whos opinions I care about and that is the people who have put their time, energy, blood sweat and tears into participating/contributing to this community and I doubt the people you are referring to would be considered as such.

People dont have to like me (Im sure a lot of them dont) but they should respect the body of work that I have done, the same cant be said about you..
