I've made all my Avy's by cropping pictures to the right size, i'm not sure if that's what you mean, but....

Yeah man cut outs (or renders is what I'm pretty sure you're talking about) are pretty easy to make in to avatars.

Oh, I don't know, it doesn't work with my technique. I just tried, and it came out well, it's just the shadows from the effect I use were present behind him.
