swipergod Posted November 8, 2014 Posted November 8, 2014 (edited) Update! I finally figured it out. I looked through dlc files to figure out commonalities between their contents for dlc wrestlers that had pyro. I decided to delete all the exploratory stuff I had here before and post the facts. Here's what you need to know about pyro and lighting effects: They are not handled by the EVP or EVZ. I think the EVP only pulls the compiled info in. The prtcls.pac holds the "textures/lighting effects" for pyro The gm.pac holds the animation data, timing, length, and sound file "request". Size doesn't matter. You can insert any pyro file into any slot as long as you update the arc. Note: The files can be added easily, but the sounds also need to be ported in. I'm not yet sure how the sounds work because I haven't done any exploration work with sounds. Can someone offer help here? So you need to replace the corresponding gm and prtcls files otherwise you'll get weird entrance effects. I'm not sure you need to use an entrance that "calls" for pyro since every character has a prtcls and gm pac file. Short tutorial: prtcls.pac Extract the prtcls.pac from whichever game you want and decompress. Open with x-packer under New pac format/Pac containing directories Find the entrance you want to export the pyro from Extract the pac (do not decompress): For example Booker's would be 338.pac Note the size Find a slot in the wwe 2k14 prtcls.pac. Size doesn't matter Inject over it with your extracted pac: For example Booker's over Jericho's would be injecting 338.pac over 104.pac update the non wrestler arc upload to your xbox (no need to compress) gm.pac Follow the exact same steps as the prtcls.pac above. Although I think that the size point is mute. I think this is where you could also remove Hollywood Hogan's black and white screen effect. I'm gonna try it later. Mathayus Posted November 14, 2014 Posted November 14, 2014 Probably the pyros aren´t in the EVP and EVZ. I don´t know where it would be. Quote
OverTheEdge Posted November 14, 2014 Posted November 14, 2014 Has anyone ever looked into the prtcls.pac file? I've always had a feeling that kind of stuff--like pyro, lighting effects, fire, the green mist, etc.--might end up being in there. Quote
swipergod Posted November 16, 2014 Author Posted November 16, 2014 (edited) Updated the first post. The pyro mystery and the last piece of entrances puzzle is almost resolved. Edited November 16, 2014 by swipergod Quote
swipergod Posted November 28, 2014 Author Posted November 28, 2014 I was thinking that the pyro also has a motion file that's controlled by a different pac (like wrestling moves). That'd be where the timing, type, size and position would be controlled. Unfortunately I've been all over the place the past couple of weeks, so I couldn't explore it further. I figured the EVZ file seeks out the prtcls files and a associated motion and puts the two together to create the pyro effect. I noticed on the 2K15 board that Tekken57 figured out how to add entrances as separate dlc. Does that apply here? And does the pyro work using that method? Would save me some time file hunting if it does work. Quote
Mathayus Posted December 7, 2014 Posted December 7, 2014 I tried to add the prtcl from 2k15 as a DLC to 2k14, but the file is too big to add it to the arc. My arc is 183kb and it increase the size to 191. So you can´t add it as DLC. Or you ca, but letting out the mostly of mods to not get over the size limit of the arc. Quote
tekken57 Posted December 7, 2014 Posted December 7, 2014 I solved the issue of large arc entries by using the team entrance packs and injecting the entrances I needed in there. It had a two directory structure i.e. Evp2 and evt. I haven't looked at the pyro files but you could probably do the same thing there. Quote
Mathayus Posted December 8, 2014 Posted December 8, 2014 But with pyro there´s only one file, and one directory. I have the problem that the file I want to add is bigger than every other files. Thinking about if the 2K15 file, that is bigger, maybe get all the 2K14 files and the new files. So what if I replace the 2K14 file with 2K15 file? Changing the info in the arc. Quote
bravebird31 Posted December 8, 2014 Posted December 8, 2014 I got rid of story designer and create an arena and that freed up a ton of space. Quote
Red Rooster Posted December 8, 2014 Posted December 8, 2014 I got rid of story designer and create an arena and that freed up a ton of space. Nice! Quote
Mathayus Posted December 8, 2014 Posted December 8, 2014 Ok, I did it. I replace the prtcls.pac with the 2K15 one. Changed the info manually in the arc and everything works fine cause the 2K15 file have all the 2K14 plus the new ones. For that the file is bigger having a lot of less entrances in 2K15. So I got the file working, then I went to change the pyro number in the prctls and in arc for his entrie. 398, what is bray Wyatt to 533 what is boogeyman but boogeyman have his old pyro yet and not the Bray Wyatt. Same with Booker. Quote

Mathayus Posted December 8, 2014 Posted December 8, 2014 What I did was adding entrances from 2K15 as DLC. First in the def, then copy the info from 2K15 to arc. I put the entrance value for Wyatt but the game skip the entrance. Quote
swipergod Posted December 11, 2014 Author Posted December 11, 2014 Hey, great to see this one resolved. So that I understand, by replacing the 2k14 prtcls with 2k15 and adjusting the arc, the pyros work without any need to change any motion files? So Sting's pyro works without any further adjustments? Same with Warrior's pyro? Does this mean that I can take Booker T's '13 entrance (which animates better imo), point it to the 2k15 booker T prtcls and it works? No issue with size or timing? Sorry, I'd try this myself, but I'm on away on a trip. Quote

Sorry, I'd try this myself, but I'm on away on a trip. I don´t know at this time. Just need to add a 2k15 entrance, full file with the entrance i want to add as DLC. Then I know if that works or not. But at this point, with the 2k15 prtcls I got working all the pyros. Goldberg, Razor, Nash, Y2J, Warrior.... If you open the prtcls of 2k15 you can see that it comes with all the 2k14 files and the new ones. I tried renaming the 533 entrance to 398 for Wyatt but It didn´t work to fix the Wyatt entrance. And for Booker, but maybe I made mistake cause I was tired when i did that. Maybe other guy have more luck than me. Quote
swipergod Posted December 13, 2014 Author Posted December 13, 2014 It's a great step Mathayus. I'll investigate more when I get back home. Maybe I could use the EVP from 2k15, and keep the EVZ from 2k14 and it'll work? A lot of people are posting that there are entrance errors with Wyatt's entrance? Is it for the EVP or the EVZ? If you just do the motions and ignore the rope physics and object, are there still issues? Quote
Mathayus Posted December 13, 2014 Posted December 13, 2014 (edited) About the Wyatt entrance: With only EVZ or adding both files. You get the guys semi-transparent. The cell phone lights in the crowd is not showing, etc... I added the file from 2K15 but it looks like there is an other file that says what pyro file is associated with what entrance. So Although I added Booker T entrance what is 510, and injected his pyro to 510 it don´t shows in game. EVp and EVZ files for Booker added. I think it is like the winning animations and other things like special nameplates, that you can´t change it, it is associated to a slot. in this case to an entrance. So adding pyro only can be done when you replaces one like you did with Jericho. I did a trick by the way: Getting a pyro that is smaller 510 and other than is bigger, 104. You inject 104 over 510, but to match the filesize, inject 510 into 104. Then, update non wrestler, The filezise don´t change and I think it works. Edited December 13, 2014 by Mathayus Quote
swipergod Posted December 14, 2014 Author Posted December 14, 2014 (edited) Yeah, I think this supports my theory. There is a file somewhere that tells the prtcls files what to do. Because the Wyatt entrance is new and has new lighting effects, 2k14 doesn't know what to do with the prtcls or the evz. I found a WWE '13 dlc pack on my computer so I was toying around a bit. I looked at the dlc M2, M3 and Mot03. I saw stuff there that controls ring and weapon animations, but nothing for the pyro. I'm assuming it'll be in a file structure that is divided by slot, same as the prtcls and entrances proper. I can't look at the actual 2k14 stuff because I don't have access to my xbox yet. I'm sure if we can find out what this file is that controls the prtcls then you can fully port in pyro/effects from '13 or 2k15. Edited December 14, 2014 by swipergod Quote
Mathayus Posted December 14, 2014 Posted December 14, 2014 Yes, and maybe do the same with other files as winning animations, etc. Quote
swipergod Posted December 26, 2014 Author Posted December 26, 2014 Update. Finally solve most of the porting issue. This should help with eventually being able to port full entrances with pyro and effects as dlc. The main issue that remains is sounds. My theory is that for Booker T for example, you'd need to find the sound clip for his pyro, note the number and when importing to this game, keep it labelled exactly the same. The gm file will look for it, find it and play the sound in the intro. I found a bunch of pyro sounds in sfx/173240701.bnk in Game_Sound_M.pck. I hope that helps I haven't explored the sound side of things much, so I don't know how the game stores and reads sounds (a numerical thing, a sequence thing, etc...). Any community expertise here would be much appreciated. Quote
delifadzli Posted December 27, 2014 Posted December 27, 2014 Glad to hear that. So, finally wyatt entrance can be used in WWE 2k14. Hopeful for tutorials. Quote
Mathayus Posted December 27, 2014 Posted December 27, 2014 If you finaly get it working in game. Would be great. For sounds. Maybe adding a sound file with the SFX form 2k15 could work. If not theres another way. Brienj gives me an idea. You can add the sound effects to the bik file. The you get the theme without the effects for the winning but you get the effects only in entrance. One entrance that needs it is Kofi Kingston. But maybe with his champion entrance it don´t match with the time. So the SFX is the best option. Quote
