MrZone Posted October 25, 2014 Posted October 25, 2014 I mean, it has been happening since the SNES/Genesis to Saturn/PS1 days where the current gen got one version while the last gen got a roster update. That said, I have heard that 2K didn't even bother to oversee Yukes when making 2K15, instead focusing their time and energy on Visual Concepts. I also personally believe part of the reason of the delay was to make 2K15 last gen a cash grab as it probably wouldn't have sold nowhere near as much as it will sell next week if the current gen version was out. BrotchMrToast Posted October 25, 2014 Posted October 25, 2014 Am I really surprised? No. Does that mean that I can't be pissed off? No. Wether I am surprised or not doesn't change anything about the fact that the game sucks. Quote
Tamer™ Posted October 25, 2014 Posted October 25, 2014 I'm not surprised. The game is exactly how I said it would be. Pointless and laughable. It somehow looks worse. If I needed any more motivation to go and grab a next gen console then those videos just helped me find it. Quote
fufu ÷ Posted October 25, 2014 Posted October 25, 2014 Am I surprised? Actually, yes, a little. Under THQ, the games never really evolved when they went up a generation. But honestly, this is exactly how it should be. I remember when we went from PS2 to 360/PS3, the games were near identical right up until they stopped making them for the previous generation. It just holds everything back so much if you don't focus on the latest hardware you have. It's refreshing to actually see them thinking forward rather than sideways. Yes, it does suck for people who can't get a current gen console for whatever reason, but for the sake of the game and the series moving forward, it's a great move and one that people have been asking for for a very long time. 1 Quote

Ill give you an example of how I figured out once the current gen versions are out, the previous gen versions tend to tank...EA Madden 97 and NBA Live 97. The SNES/Genesis versions took a step backwards from Madden 96, and that was due to the fact that there were 2 teams and the 16 bit team mailed it in while EA focused on the 32 bit team. Quote
