adding alternate attires to dlc on ps3

I'm running into snags trying to add extra costumes to dlc characters. Anabolica's instructions says update the catalog_hd.arc & catalod_sd.arc instead of the normal plistPS3.arc files. Everytime I try to update the catalog arc files I get a error message in X-Packer saying none of the attires were found in the arc & the file zeros out from default 6kb. Am I missing a step?

Have you clicked on add aditional attires first ? I have not tryed to put an extra attire on dlc, my instruction is only for texture edit the original dlc attire and not to add a new one. The filesize is ok its only 6Kb.

Hey Anabolica I found this link I'm gonna try that technique and see if it works on the ps3.

One more side note you should edit your tutorial to say that the misc_dlc3.pac should be found in the category 3 folder NOT the category 5 folder.

I answered a similar question about a day ago just a few topics down from this question. Make sure you check other answers to save duplicate queries that have been answered.

@Anabolica sorry man I was responding while I was in a rush and posted "category" instead of catalog

@LordBarker I was looking through the forum before I posted the question. I must have missed it. Looking further back I see a TON of people keep asking this same question. Sorry.

I Understand your rush but i dont have a false instruction in my thread anyway. Have you tried this from post #4

I think thats how it works for dlc. and only update the cataloghd arcs not the default arcs.

Ok, a couple of snags. I'm trying to add alternate outfits to Jake Roberts. I used the method & changed a slot in the misc01_start.pac(santino). That added the additional slots to Jake but they all loaded as his original wm8 outfit. Ive tryed to update the catalog_hd.arc & catalod_sd.arc files in x-packer. But the game freezes at character load when I update these two files. I tried replacing the chpacs in the category 5 Game folder and once again the game freezes at character load. Ive scoured the forum for answers and I can't find a complete answer. Can anyone give me a decisive step by step guide to adding alternate attires to existing dlc on the PS3(ie Nash, Hall, Jake etc)?????

Add Jakes pach file to someone elses pac file the game will still load them.

I added Jakes attires to King Kong Bundys pac file as long as the pach files are named correctly (I cant remember what Jakes ID number is but lets say its 345) it will work.

Budgys pac is ch196.pac in there is 19602.pach, 34502, 34512, 34522 etc.

Update arc file

No need to do anything in the catalog. Just the misc and dont forget to replace santino id with jake. Then just add additional attires to arc in xpacker
