The 4th Doctor Posted October 9, 2014 Posted October 9, 2014 Ghostbusters movie, stressing it will be a complete reboot that won't even feature cameos of the original characters. Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, the director confirmed we should expect a new group of characters set in a world that may seem familiar but features the trappings of our modern society, especially when it comes to the science involved with the ghosts. Is an All-Girl Ghostbusters a Good Idea? - IGN Conversation 13:26 "I love origin stories," he said. "That’s my favorite thing. I love the first one so much I don’t want to do anything to ruin the memory of that. So it just felt like, let’s just restart it because then we can have new dynamics. I want the technology to be even cooler. I want it to be really scary, and I want it to happen in our world today that hasn’t gone through it so it’s like, oh my God what’s going on?" “ I love the first one so much I don’t want to do anything to ruin the memory of that. When asked whether or not we'd see any of the older cast members returning, even for cameos, Feig was adamant that if it were to happen they'd have to be new characters. As the older movies won't be referenced in any way, it wouldn't make sense for these characters to exist. Of course, that naturally begs the question of whether this is the same world we're in when it comes to outfits and the all important theme song. On that front, things are a little up in the air. "Everything is up for grabs right now," he explained. "I look at this the same way a superhero movie launches where it’s always fun to see, like, what are they going to do with the costumes this time? What are they going to do with the hardware this time? It’s not going to be, here is the exact same stuff. It’s also not going to go, screw you, if you like that stuff, it’s all completely different. We’re going to have fun with it, but again, bring it into our time period. I’m a big hardware nerd when it comes to sci-fi and all of that so I love all the gear and I love all that. We’re really going to have fun with playing with the science of it. I think fans will be very happy with what we do because it has fun with what came before but it’s new. It’s just a new, fun take on it." Earlier this week we learned Kate Dippold will co-write the female-led film with Feig. Initially, the film was intended to be Ghostbusters 3, but the death of Harold Ramis and a number of other setbacks eventually turned the project into a complete reboot. In August, we learned that Feig was being considered to direct the film that would feature an all-female leading cast. Source IGN.com I love the original Ghostbuster movies and am pretty upset that this won't have anything to do with the older movies. I am also not keen on a female group of ghostbusters. Quote

The 4th Doctor Posted October 10, 2014 Author Posted October 10, 2014 Sure it will be interesting take none the less.. No doubt cameos from the original 4 will pop up in it as well The Guy who played Egon passed away earlier this year Bill Murray wants nothing to do with it. Also the director has said nothing from the old movies will be in this. Its a strict reboot it seems. Quote
Aero Posted October 10, 2014 Posted October 10, 2014 Sick of all these reboots... Only think i look for in most of them is the references and cameos from the originals, so fuck this!! Actually much more interested in the Dads army movie... Replacing the old characters with new faces who look and can act similarly to the originals... Winning the Quote
BrokenDreams23 Posted October 10, 2014 Posted October 10, 2014 Nothing wrong with this, it'll be kinda like the cartoons from back in the 90s. I wonder if Alyssa Milano will wanna be in this since she played a character in the 2009 game & there was talk of her possibly being in a movie, back in 09. Quote

Completely forgot Harold Ramis passed away.. *facepalm*, Damn well then hope it works out for him, it won't surpass the original that's for sure . Think even Ghostbusters 2 will be more acclaimed over this movie when its released Quote
