Arena Object Visibility

Recommended Posts

Posted (edited)

I have just discovered a problem with a couple of my modded arenas, certain objects disappear when the camera is at a certain angle.

Eg. I have used a banner from above the entrance to make a logo on the floor but in-game when I angle the camera at the floor the object disappears.

Im assuming the the object has a property that tells it to only render when it will be visible to the camera, the problem is, it is now in a different location so I need to adjust that property.

Anyone know how to fix this?

Well I had this problem with the top left WWE logo texture in the Extreme Rules arena entrance set, I don't really know how to fix this, maybe that there are some parameters in the YOBJ file or in any other file from the arena ?

I'm with the same problem. Still haven't figured out how to fix it.

This. From my experience, the only thing telling the object what to do is the object itself. It depends on where you relocate the object to as well. The curved steel structures from my Raw arena disappeared when I had them touching the stage. But when I made them hover just above it (about a couple of pixels, so that you can't tell) they seemed to like to like that position, and they no longer disappeared. Lights will tend to vanish and reappear again wherever you place them. They only seem to like their original position.

You'd have to go through the YOBJ with a hex editor, see what you find.

With any object that is flat ie 2D you will have this issue, happened with me on the In your House mod. The cameras only have a certain field of view so if the camera is too close it won't show. The house object I had was just a huge banner that I textured, it would be fine with one superstar but vanish for another because of the field of view the camera had.

Yeah, nothing really to add here, but I just wanted to chime in and say that I ran into the same thing before. In my case, it was the Over the Limit arena, and I took the logo around the titantron and made it big as fuck for one of the shows I did. It looked great and worked just fine, but I think as soon as its original size would have been out of frame, it'd just disappear completely--like you said, as if the game would only render it if it was focused on at the time. Was never able to figure it out either.

Here's a quick example:

as far as things like light beams go, they're a complete no no. you either have to put up with them in their original position, or remove them completely from the Arena. when it comes down to choosing an Arena as a base for a mod, you need to consider which Arena has the best lighting, and will work well with your new set.
