TNA iMPACT played better than any wrestling game on the market when it was released.

I loved the punching and chair physics in that game, simulated a match or even a brawl properly. On a bigger budget a second game would've been great.

No, but gameplay does. And playing HCTP again today confirmed my thoughts. It was great at the time, and was better than some of its successors, probably up to around '08/9. Gameplay now feels more natural and a ton more responsive then it did then.

Just my opinions though, obviously don't want a war to start man!

No war at all man I totally agree with you lol haven't been able to play hctp maybe since 07-08 after the 360/ps3 graphics/gameplay came out I couldn't go back to ps1 graphics or gameplay. Like you said man gameplay makes the game. If the gameplay and ai sucks then IMO the game is a failure

the only issue is the clunkiness, but if that was fixed a current version of the game would be very good.

Agreed with king although my fist WWE/WWF game was war zone then had many fond memories of smackdown and smackdown 2, JBI was flat out horrible, I really loved SYM and HCTP, the series went down hill when it became the smackdown vs raw franchise IMO

I think it went downhill come 2008, because 07 was amazing and 06 was pretty solid. The original SvR was pretty good as well.

09 was the downfall, to me 08 was good due to still having 24/7 and GM mode in.

I say 08 bc of those limited fight styles, undertaker couldn't do outside dives anymore etc

I didn't like 08 or 09, 10 was pretty good and everything since has been meh
