stnhdr Posted September 14, 2014 Posted September 14, 2014 I'm trying to get all the achievements for this game, have the following missing: 1. get 30, 50 wins in defend the streak 2. kick out of Undertaker's pin 5 times 3. complete the photo album Any tips for any of these would help. I've been trying to beat Undertaker with his victims, only managed CM Punk and HBK so far. Even when I stock up finishers and knock him down, as I pick him up he puts me in that stupid submission and I end up submitting eventually. Infuriating. Any help is appreciated. Thanks! Quote
SausageBarm Posted September 14, 2014 Posted September 14, 2014 Advice is hard for these achievements, but this is what worked for me: 1.) Not as hard as it sounds really. You heal after every 5th victory. Defeating the first 30 should be pretty easy. Make sure to store finishers and avoid being put into submissions; so frustrating when you lose to an abdominal stretch at 40. 2.) Luck based. Really no advice available. He only pins you at critical damage so it's just a matter of kicking out skill. Make sure you have resiliency. You could go into 'takers set and make most of his moves pin combo to increase the chances that he'll pin you, but again, pure luck. 3.) If beating 'taker is too hard, I'd recommend going into his moveset and changing both of his finishers to Diving to Standing opponent moves as CPU's never go for them. As for the actual match, try to stay outside as much as possible. Use weapons every chance you can get and try to taunt a lot, even if it does sound nooby. You could also change the sets of the guys you have to use to make it easier. Up to you. Quote
stnhdr Posted September 14, 2014 Author Posted September 14, 2014 Thanks, gonna try all this tonight! I managed to beat him legitimately two times, but now suddenly he's gone ape-shit and reverses EVERYTHING. He also puts me in a submission now every time I pick him up to do a finisher. That didn't happen before. Thanks for the help, man. Anyone else, please feel free to share! Quote
Beyond The Ropes Posted September 15, 2014 Posted September 15, 2014 My tips for you defeating the streak would be: #1. Never pick him up manually. The only time you should be standing him up yourself is if you use a call up taunt obviously. That's the one thing I'm always sure not to make the mistake of doing. #2. Always have ring escape if you aren't the best at countering. I only use it when I KNOW I need to, it's a life saver. Especially when used like it should be which is at desperate times. #3. If you do use ring escapes, don't be a jabroni and completely waste it by running right back into the ring to get the upper hand. Really use them to your advantage, when he comes out after you, hit him in the middle of his exit ring motion and it will usually land him on his head in an awkward glitchy like way, he can't counter that and it does decent damage. Follow up with a few outside moves and then whip him into the steps so he flips over them. He almost never counters me if I do that in exactly that order. #4. Use OMG moments as often as they present themselves. (On a side note, when you press buttons during OMG moves, they tend to do less damage and that leads to them just getting right back up in a few seconds. It still does damage but not as much. Nobody seems to know why.) #5. My fifth and final tip for defeating the steak is simple. Do not rush. Yes, the longer the match the easier it will be to lose. But...that goes both ways. If you keep running at him anxiously trying to damage him with everything right out of the gate, he's just going to counter and hurt you more than you are hurting him. Use as many moves in your move-set as possible. If you can, never use the same move twice besides finishers and signatures. You'll get way more points if you use your entire move-set and all of the OMG's, but if you can't beat him then that part is besides the point. Good luck! Quote

stnhdr Posted September 15, 2014 Author Posted September 15, 2014 Thanks, Gimpy. Any tips for dealing with his pin reversals? Last night I had him beat, all I needed to do was pin him. Somehow he reversed THAT, too. I mean, what bullshit. Quote
Beyond The Ropes Posted September 15, 2014 Posted September 15, 2014 Oh man, that's the worst. It pissed me off too. Haha there's really not all that much you can do about it. I'd suggest having a couple go-to pin combo moves. I use quite a few of them for the realism of having a lot of pins in a match. Feels more lifelike to me. You could also try having the leverage pin ability, that will almost guarentee your victory at certain points if he's damaged enough and you really catch him out of nowhere. So as long as he doesn't have leverage pins, he can't roll you into one by countering yours. Oh yeah, one more thing I left out from the tips. Don't let go of your own pins or submissions, it takes away a bit of momentum. I only let go of a submission when it's a certain one that has a counter animation for getting out of it. Always giving him as little chance to get you as possible. That one helps me a lot. Quote
Guest Dazman™ Posted September 15, 2014 Posted September 15, 2014 Change your Superstars signature move to a Fallaway Slam, hit it on the steel steps and pin him. Job done. Quote
Fozy Posted September 15, 2014 Posted September 15, 2014 So, you're either all pretty terrible at the game if you all need to cheese the win. Or the game is just designed terribly. What will it be? Quote
Beyond The Ropes Posted September 15, 2014 Posted September 15, 2014 I was pissed off at how easy it was, the first time around I won in like 3 minutes with HHH. After hearing Bryan Williams say how "challenging" it was, I was quite let down by it. Defend the streak mode on the other hand was much more of a challenge and that made it a lot of fun. I've only gotten to 91 though. Still trying for that perfect score. Oh yeah, Fozy, not everybody is a wwe games expert. Plus, the game IS terribly designed. Lol. So some people just aren't the best and others get the hang of it. The only problem I have with it is constant freezing. By the way, how can you "cheese" in a no holds barred match? This isn't South Park, it's WWE. Quote
Fozy Posted September 15, 2014 Posted September 15, 2014 Heh, I re-read the replies and I'll take back my statement about everyone. I'm just talking about people who are going in and changing Taker's moveset and stuff to nerf him. Quote
SausageBarm Posted September 15, 2014 Posted September 15, 2014 Only suggested it for the achievement. Nothing more annoying than facing an Orton CAW online who has the Blackout and Red Arrow as his fins with custom made yellow superstar threads. Quote

They non-reversable or something? Quote
SausageBarm Posted September 15, 2014 Posted September 15, 2014 Nothing to do with them being unblockable. I'm sort of a perfectionist with movesets so it annoys me. Great finishers though; great for a custom CAW, not for Randy Orton. Quote
Fozy Posted September 15, 2014 Posted September 15, 2014 Ah okay. Yeah, I understand the grievances. Quote

I'm just talking about people who are going in and changing Taker's moveset and stuff to nerf him. Oh, I see. That makes sense, sorry. I've never had to do that. If anybody is that worried about getting caught by his moves they should just try facing one of the older Taker models in the game, they can't use the possum hell's gate or chokeslam. That's another way to avoid those but I'd consider that the easy way out. Quote
Fozy Posted September 15, 2014 Posted September 15, 2014 Well I tried it and used your methods Gimpy. Did well for a while then I got fucked pretty hard. I hate you Gimpy. You're the worst sensei I've ever had. Quote
Zero. Posted September 15, 2014 Posted September 15, 2014 Defending Hmm I'm at 30 already anyways go ape shit crazy try to reverse everything listen to music if you have 3 finishers only use one not all one not all of them so you can keep gaining them. If u can take two tombstones outside through the table hit 3 finishers and but him open and then pick him up and hit another one you win make sure you have resiliency. Quote

You're the worst sensei I've ever had.xD hahaha I'm sorry, tips alone can't make anyone play the game like me. The most you can do is take those tips and implement them into your own strategy. Just because they work for one person won't guarentee anything/: If I had a way to record and upload gameplay videos you'd see how realisticly I play the game. I don't play them like a game, I tend to think like an actual wrestling match where I want to get certain spots in with my character, and then I'll let the opponent hit certain moves when I know where it's going. It feels more like a wrestling match that way instead of a game where I know I'm going to kick the CPU's ass by hitting all my favorite moves in order. I guess I'm just weird like that. What can I say? I love wrestling, man! Edited September 15, 2014 by Gimpy Biscuit Quote
stnhdr Posted September 16, 2014 Author Posted September 16, 2014 I ended up changing his moveset, now I only have 3 more characters to go. It was just too annoying getting hit by his unblockable crap all the time and not even being able to pin him. Not worth the frustration. Thanks for the help, folks! Quote
UndertakerWLF Posted September 16, 2014 Posted September 16, 2014 (edited) I beat him with Jake Roberts, a few DDTs and a steel chair or two later and he was done and dusted, timing is everying in streak mode. Learn how to reverse and you'll be a winner. Edited September 16, 2014 by UndertakerWLF Quote
