CM Punk suing WWE over 2K15

CM Punk's lawyers recently sent a 22-page letter to WWE over royalties and their use of his likeness, mainly him being featured in the WWE 2K15 video game.
This isn't confirmed but WWE may have stopped sending Punk royalty checks over their claim that he breached his contract. Regarding the video game, the roster was put together before Punk quit the company.

Could he be removed in the next month because of this? A bit worried. Does WWE have a case with him breaching the contract do you think?

Plus like I said, it's not like WWE are actually milking the name & likeness, last I checked we're talking about a video game by a developer that isn't WWE & isn't something that you can just simply write off or remove & it's not like people will be buying WWE 2K15 just for one guy, that's pretty arrogant to think if that's what he thinks, not to mention that only a portion of the game's sales would go to WWE & for everything in it, not just one guy who, again, just up & left & didn't give a notice so that all parties involved could remove all traces of him.

 

Again, understanding of how coding of video games works is a key factor here, it's not like 2K can just simply remove the coding & especially with how close it is to release time. So yeah his chances of actually being able to sue WWE are very slim, especially if they counter with breach of contract.

I like how you tell me that I should stop assuming yet you jump to the stupidest one yet. "Breach of contract" Yeah, he left. How the hell do you know ANYTHING about the stance of the departure? Did you read it on the internet somewhere and ASSUME it was correct? They are taking his name and putting it in a game, not asking him, not giving him money for using his own name and likeness. This can be sued for. He will win the case if he decided to press charges.

Pretty sure he woulda signed his likeness over before he was even scanned or whatever. You have to get wavers before anything like that can even take place. It's the same with film and TV and what have you. It'll either get settled pretty quick or thrown out entirely. All I know is that, due to his popularity, CM Punk is one of the top draws for the game and would definitely influence game sales. IF Mr Brooks has breached the terms of his Contract they would be welcome to use this as a counter argument in this court case.
