I seriously wouldn't be surprised if they cut caw mode out. But if they have updated it then I doubt we could make anything look anywhere near an IGM.

Well IGN is saying that there will be a "My Player" Mode for caws. So there is a caw mode. I'm guessing it's stripped down tremendously.

Look at the story mode article, it mentions created wrestlers and plus, I'm sure it'll be updated.

Honestly don't care too much about how bad CAWs will look this year. An upgrade this big has been long overdue. Besides, career mode will be centered around your CAW, so I think they'll give them extra attention.
