You don't get preorder cards you get preorder code on the receipt. So if you didn't preorder 90% of the time you won't get the code as far as me preordering though, i haven't yet but plan on it around the 14th of september (my birthday!) I get where you're coming from. It's 2k's stupid promotional logic. but you know that 2k showcase, My Career and Universe is in next gen, and that 2k showcase and universe is in last gen. Only thing you really have to be unsure about is caw, caa, story designer, caf and how entrances are done. And yeah that's alot of question marks but I think it's gonna turn out good for everyone.
