Zark Posted July 11, 2014 Posted July 11, 2014 (edited) So after a forum member asked the question Will last gen look this bad? The graphical difference between the current and last gen nba versions are enough to make me go to next gen personally. I'll imagine wwe 2k15 will look just as cartoonish on last gen. Another member responded with According to the articles, the only thing last gen is getting graphically is a new "lighting system". So this is probably what you should expect from the last gen version graphically. and then hours later Jared"2K Community & Social Media Manager of WWE" responded with It definitely doesn't look anything like that. A new lighting engine doesn't mean we just cranked up the contrast, it changes the look of the entire game and gives it a much more natural tone. It's not a massive leap, but it goes a long way to making it appear more like what you're seeing on television. What do you think of this? Was you expecting Last gen versions to look better then 2K14? Are you picking the game up for Xbox One/PS4 or Xbox 360/PS3? Bob_Van_Dam Posted July 11, 2014 Posted July 11, 2014 Will be jumping over to PS4 if it looks better and still has CAW mode. Don't see why I would like to stay on last gen. Quote
Zark Posted July 12, 2014 Author Posted July 12, 2014 I'm not sure if I'm able to get a next gen console before the game release as my birthday is November 30th, so I guess I will either have to get it on the 360 and then again on the Xbox One or wait... Quote
Righteous Posted July 12, 2014 Posted July 12, 2014 Hopefully next gen will get another price cut for the holidays. Quote
Thedeadmanrising Posted July 12, 2014 Posted July 12, 2014 I'll probably be getting it for PS4, which means I most likely not will be getting it for PS3... Also means I'll probably wait til the price lowers. I want to capture full aspect of it as far as it being on a next gen console. Quote
OLD ACCOUNT Posted July 12, 2014 Posted July 12, 2014 The premiere game edition will be on Xbox One/PS4. I needed a reason to get a newer console. This and a few other games, as well as a blu-ray player (Xbox guy) sells it or me. I won't be getting to play the game when it comes out, but I'll get the console for Christmas probably. Treat myself. Had to eventually. Quote

best in the world Posted July 12, 2014 Posted July 12, 2014 People tend to get overly dramatic when it comes to the current gen vs. next gen graphics issue. To me, I didn't see that much of a difference last time we went from PS2 to PS3 and I'm guessing there won't be much of a graphical leap between PS3 to PS4. Same applies to 360 owners going to XB1, there won't be a big difference. 2K16 might be a different story though, as 2K has more time to implement more wide scale changes to everything...... Quote
Tamer™ Posted July 12, 2014 Posted July 12, 2014 After seeing this I've definitely made my choice and I've decided to go to the PS4. Quote
bluemonkeymagic Posted July 12, 2014 Posted July 12, 2014 NBA 2k14 on the ps4 us like a completely different game to the ps3, I can't wait to see this on next gen Quote

There won't be a huge difference, but similar to Titanfall or any games coming out for both Xbox One/360, there will be a difference and the better version, no matter how better who knows, will be on the newer console. The same game experience and all that, but the ones for the newer systems will have a little more polish, you know? And I agree for sure on 16 and beyond. Quote
the King Lives Posted July 12, 2014 Posted July 12, 2014 360 screw those over expensive new systems honestly, i just got the real deal experience with a real hd tv (my last tv was hd but only outputed to 720p. the person who's tv i'm using is a phillips 1080p television and i mean looking at it makes everything come to life.) not saying that it won't look that good on next gen or current but the thing is that comparison pic isn't even that bad Quote
the King Lives Posted July 12, 2014 Posted July 12, 2014 After seeing this I've definitely made my choice and I've decided to go to the PS4. have fun without custom tracks lol Quote
Bob_Van_Dam Posted July 12, 2014 Posted July 12, 2014 The pic on the right destroys the pic on the left. Shows emotion, better lighting and dynamic facial features. Quote

Smacktalks Posted July 12, 2014 Posted July 12, 2014 The lighting is more likely to be like the older SVR games pre-SVR2011, if you go back and view those then that's how i've been led to believe it'll look. Here's a quick example, it won't look exactly like this but it'll give you an idea (Ignore how much either looks like Edge, it's the lighting you should be focusing on).SVR 2007WWE '13 Quote
w00ody Posted July 12, 2014 Posted July 12, 2014 I don't really mind, there's not much they can do for the last gen versions if current gen is their main focus. I also don't plan on buying the game twice either to compare the two versions. Quote
M42Productions Posted July 12, 2014 Posted July 12, 2014 The NBA comparison is pretty amazing, but not enough to justify my running out and getting a new console, especially since we know nothing about the gameplay or Creation tools. Gameplay and making stuff > pretty faces. Quote
Blackbird 13 Posted July 12, 2014 Posted July 12, 2014 People in this topic are SUPER spoiled. Yes, the game looks better on the next gen systems.. that should have been assumed from the moment it was announced for both next gen and previous gen systems. No one is arguing that the picture on the right doesn't look better. The problem is that the picture on the left is also pretty sweet. Go back and play Steel Cage Challenge on the NES.. or any of the (admittedly decent) SNES WWF games.. then tell me about the terrible graphics in the picture on the left. Even on the PS3/360.. the graphics in the game now have made a lot of improvements since the launch WWE titles on those systems. So yeah.. not a big deal. Plus the 360 will likely be able to be modded to unlock NPCs and the like. Quote
KahRiss Posted July 12, 2014 Posted July 12, 2014 I was the one who commented the darkened Triple H picture lmfao. Just like I said, there's no difference graphically but they're adding a new "lighting system" to last gen. I don't think 07 is a good example. They're probably talking about the same "lighting system" used in next gen NBA 2K14. Quote

If they got wind that mp3 support was coming from sony/microsoft then i could see them having the feature in place but i have a feeling there won't be mp3 support at all Quote
