For created guys you'd have to go through NXT but with the existing guys you have an option

 

Normal meaning you start off on the main roster or

 

Rookie meaning your attributes are on minimum and you work your way up from development.

I think the mode could be a really cool replacement for the Historic Era mode. If we can have this and a MyPlayer mode, I see no problem with it. Think about what we could have here.. I'm just going to go off on a prediction tangent here..

i'm all for an nxt mode with low stats and building them up, however, i don't want to have to do that for guys outside of the mode aka svr09/10. i hated having to build my stats but i can understand it being like that for my career

I have always hated GM mode.  It serves absolutely no purpose and can be content better spent on improving WWE Universe mode.

Sorry but GM Mode was probably the best mode they ever ever put together for a WWE game.  Most importantly it was complete.  Had tons of depth, and it was a challenge.  Universe mode is pretty in-complete hence "Universe 4.0" lmfao.  It has no challenge or goal for the person playing it.  The idea/goal of Universe mode itself is to simulate a pro wrestling show and it fails to do that.  It's a bunch random rivalries and cut-scenes.  I don't blame them either because it's not possible to simulate a scripted pro wrestling show. GM Mode had a much more realistic goal in mind which is to build a brand through the eyes of an owner/manager.  You were in control of everything so there was no scripted aspect behind it.  You had to handle contracts, injuries. keep your superstars happy, and keep your shows ratings up, book matchcards, storylines, and tons more all while on a budget.  I thought the mode was excellent and had tons of replay value.  Yet some people don't like a challenge, which is understandable.  All they would need to do is add an off option for those things(which they had in previous modes) and people should have no problems.  Most people play Universe like GM Mode anyway.  It seems like Universe is getting scrapped anyways according to their website which doesn't mention Universe and simply says "New Modes".  So you guys should be hoping you get something as close to Universe mode as GM Mode.

no, gm mode is not of popular demand, it was removed because it was received so poorly.. only people i know that enjoyed it were people that were "Pretending" what the promos and stories were doing since there weren't even any cutscenes.. it was a horrible mode and i was not sad to see it go

i wasn't interested mainly cause there were no cutscenes.  all i can say is the reason why thq removed it after 2008 was because alot of people were complaining that there weren't any cutscenes with the promos/storylines returning superstars/etc if they added the cutscenes then yeah i'd say that'd be a bit better although it'd sort of be like a merged gm/story designer mode lol

that would be completely awesome, ESPECIALLY if 2K could find a system where feuds automatically get promos and story designer scenes... but I have no idea how that works.

 

P.S. "The 101" on Youtube made a concept video of a Defeat the John Cena mode. You should check it out. Cena reverses everything and has unlimited finishers... thought it was pretty funny.

People complained about there being no cutscenes so they remove the mode altogether? Why not do the logical thing and put cutscenes in? I honestly hate Cory Ledesma so much.

i don't think it was so much of that, than the fact that they didn't like the fact that superstars got injured too easily especially if you had them wrestle a match on heat and again on raw. And the fact that the ai always seemed to do better by throwing together over the top gimmick matches when you would still have 5 star matches ie title matches etc and the crowd would be into your matches but they still just let the ai beat you lol. By the way, i'm moving into a house that will have cable and internet included, so if anyone that's pretty much still into the current wwe product can send me a pm to highlight what's been going on in wwe since around raw after mania that would def be appreciative, I move on wednesday so if anyone would not have a problem catching me up, i appreciate it lol
