AgeofSandow Posted July 9, 2014 Posted July 9, 2014 2K is looking to make cash, right? So why don't they stick these NXT guys as DLC? That way, they'll all get dedicated moves just for them, instead of trying to squish them all in with this mix of current and legends, which is going to be huge. Tons of new people coming, and if rumors are true, new legends like Sting, Sid, and Honky Tonk Man. i hope if sid is in the game, he has a new chokeslam and powerbomb, he shouldn't have nash's jacknife yeah more powerbombs is always good, because there jackknife and the powerbomb w/ flipping over pin are the only good ones. Can't stand "Powerbomb 3" for some reason. Quote
cparker33 Posted July 9, 2014 Posted July 9, 2014 (edited) Hmm. I don't see other fans of sports and fighting franchises have this same debate every year. For example you never see: "if I see Michael Jordan in NBA2K15, I'm gonna throw up...Or "Why did we get Bruce Lee in UFC?!? "He such a waste of Space!!! Or "Really!?! Barry Sanders? He hasn't played football in 20 years?!?" As a longtime wrestling fan, I played games with only 10 wrestlers and that was the entire roster!!! I am thankful to get both in game wrestlers and legends but never touched the games without the inclusion of the guys I grew up watching. It comes down to WWE's marketing strategy of attracting multiple generations (no longer the 18-35 year old demographic). Legends sell because of the hardcore fans such as myself and these games would have current superstars anyways so I see it as a bonus. The younger wrestlers will get in eventually and that's how they get you to buy the game next year and beyond. I don't buy the whole argument that "This is WWE 2K15, not WWE 1990!" When NBA 2K15 has Michael Jordan + Legends and it isn't "Bull vs Lakers" Madden 25 had Barry Sanders + Legends and it isn't "Tecmo Super Bowl", UFC has Bruce Lee and it isn't "NES Kung Fu"...point made. All these game franchises include legends to maximize profit. Ideally I'd like to see 3 modes: THEN- " Play as 10-12 legendary champions and relive their greatest matches and rivalries" - Somewhat like how NBA2K features their legends and you can include other legends as their opponents. (Excluding 30 years of WrestleMania and Attitude Era matches to eliminate redundancy). "You can still easily have 30-50 legends with this mode." NOW- "Upgraded version of Universe mode with storylines that play into WWE Network and current storylines taking place within the WWE Universe. (Current Roster 40-50) FOREVER- (NXT Mode - Create a wrestler or start off as any NXT member on the roster and work your way up the ranks. As your wrestler advances, they eventually get placed into NOW and THEN modes. "Satisfies NXT Fans and provides a comphrensive career mode" Edited July 9, 2014 by cparker33 Quote
Tamer™ Posted July 9, 2014 Posted July 9, 2014 It's time for new product, it's the way to move forward. I'm not saying that there shouldn't be legends, I'm just saying that they shouldn't be the main focus of each year. Quote

Righteous Posted July 9, 2014 Posted July 9, 2014 Ok, if you want a true, current roster, then there is truly only around 68 folks (divas included). That leaves plenty of room for Legends (modern and old school), especially depending on the "theme" of the game itself. I would personally love to see NXT and the WWE Performance Center utilized in the game (career mode). Also, NXT superstars (the few standouts) could easily fit as DLC. Neville, CJ Parker, Enzo and Big Cass, Corey Graves, Konnor, Sami Zayn, Tyler Breeze, Viktor. Divas- Bayley, Charlotte, Sasha Banks. Possibles- Aiden English, Alexa Bliss, Baron Corbin, Becky Lynch, Bull Dempsey, Kalisto, Mojo Rawley. There's room enough for everyone to be happy. Quote

I mean the sambo suplex is the closest thing i could find to resemble wrath's death penalty. and yeah sid's chokeslam was way different.. i just want him and the chokeslam in just to recreate that sid chokeslamming hogan moment from 2000 LOL Quote

All moves should be allowed as signatures; no limits. In fact, allow people to make a move from springboard to outside, normal, or to inside as one, because gameplay will be smoother. I can't give Cody Rhodes the disaster kick as signature because the grapple doesn't fit for his set-up, which is often out of nowhere. Or springboard 450 as finisher for Gabriel. No need to limit people. Quote
best in the world Posted July 10, 2014 Posted July 10, 2014 Every big type of move, whether it is powerbombs, piledrivers, DDTs, or chokeslams, should have upwards of 10-20 different variations. That gives you a wide parameter to assign different creations different moves. Quote

Kinda like how undertaker and kane does their chokeslams now, they don't have much impact vs say wrestlemania 20. Although i liked the way nash changed his powerbomb more less like a shoulderbomb. I still remember when the giant jacknifed er powerbombed nash in 98 i always said that was more of like a choke slam style power bomb because of the way he did it. Man i miss those days of the jacknife people. Still think nash sid and norton's powerbombs were the best! Quote
best in the world Posted July 11, 2014 Posted July 11, 2014 @jeffsdomain: I was watching an old WCW Nitro from '99 the other day and I didn't remember that Norton even used a powerbomb but he did. And of course, it was badass. Wasn't the whole Giant/Nash issue from the way Nash dropped The Giant when he hit the Jackknife powerbomb? Did he injure him or something like that? Damn, those kind of rivalries and moments don't happen enough in wrestling these days..... Quote
DaMitch Posted July 11, 2014 Posted July 11, 2014 The Attitude Era Hardyz , Dudleys and Edge & Christian Kurt Angle Attitude Era ( Lol these should have all been in WWE 13 ) i know it aint gonna happen but a man can BOLIEVE Quote

WWE12 had current superstars as well the problem with 12 is people kept saying why wwe won't do anything with the wcw arenas logos etc so i think that was the whole reason behind the hero storyline and that whole wcw mess (which i don't even count because it was stupid) i liked the sheamus and triple h one but after that it just got stupid lol Quote

Damn, those kind of rivalries and moments don't happen enough in wrestling these days..... yeah i did injure him but not as much as it seemed. nash was normally dropping smaller people, i don't think he had dropped anyone big in wcw before the giant. and so that was probably why they did the whole fine after a powerbomb thing after it happened, to possibly give him time to redefine the way he did it, and yeah norton's was awesome. I remember in 95 or 96 when he was with icetrain, and the giant beat icetrain down, norton got into giant's face and the giant chokeslammed him, and norton got right back up LOL the giant was shocked like WTF, then chokeslammed him again. That norton was totally an underated NJPW Baddass! LOL one person i do wish would make it into 2k15 Quote
best in the world Posted July 11, 2014 Posted July 11, 2014 @jeffsdomain: I liked Scott Norton a lot better and thought he was more of a badass than guys like Tank Abbott who they made a big deal out of, but who sucked! Norton was legit badass and he didn't get as much recognition as other lesser NWO guys. I still can't believe to this day that Nash actually powerbombed The Giant, that was awesome. Quote
