Tamer™ Posted June 27, 2014 Posted June 27, 2014 If only they satisfied all three markets by doing a Season Mode where you go through it as someone in game of your choice, WCW Mode where you relive 95-99 plus 25 WCW characters with it and finally NXT Mode where you start from the bottom with a CAW plus 15-20 NXT guys thrown in there. That would please all three of us. Quote
best in the world Posted June 27, 2014 Posted June 27, 2014 Since most fans can't agree on which mode they'd rather see used this year, it would be cool if they eliminated modes altogether and gave us the ability to use our own created branching storylines. However, if they do choose a mode theme this year I'd rather see WCW Mode than NXT Mode. Simply because NXT doesn't have what I consider bonafide megastars. They are up-and-comers so making a mode full of jobbers doesn't really appeal to me. I always thought WWE '13 should have added in some WCW matches in their Attitude Era Mode to balance the sides but using that mode in WWE 2K15 makes more sense than ever to me since Sting will be included. I know the Attitude Era mode and 30 Years bored the fuck out of me. I don't really have anything against the mode, but it shouldn't be the main mode of the game, it's a sorry excuse of a mode to replace season/rtwm with. It doesn't even look like they put that much work into 30 Years and Attitude Era mode so one would think that they could give us all the best of both worlds. Quote

I hated WWE12 so much because that storyline was horrid not to mention that caw part you couldn't even have your own moveset and entrance. I felt that they could have used some better storylines than what they had. So yeah while i'll always be a wcw fan at heart, and i'll make my wcw rosters every year, i really don't need a wcw mode. Heck the stuff me and my best friend have done in regards to doin the wcw storyline in the past on games like world tour and revenge were some of the best stuff we've done way before we started doing voiceovers for our cartoon animation production. We taped the matches then recorded the play by play. Anything 2k tries to do wcw wise wouldn't be right without schiavonne and heenan imo. So yeah i'd rather have a current type storyline. Quote
best in the world Posted June 28, 2014 Posted June 28, 2014 If you think Attitude Era mode or 30 Years of WrestleMania was boring, imagine how boring an NXT mode would be! At least Attitude Era and 30 Years of Mania had actual stars. I can't say I'd be thrilled about a mode theme with a bunch of jobbers. Call it nostalgic all you want but the fact is that WWF and WCW had REAL stars and not what passes for stars on today's WWE. Most of these NXT guys wouldn't have even been jerking the curtain during wrestling's glory days. Just further goes to show you how gullible and sheep-like today's WWE audience is..... Quote

best in the world Posted June 28, 2014 Posted June 28, 2014 @RatedRLionTamer: Branching storylines, cool. Having a mode built around jobbers that most of the casual fans don't care about, idiotic Quote
best in the world Posted June 28, 2014 Posted June 28, 2014 @jeffsdomain: Didn't you just love the whole scenario based button story? "Beat the opponent to the right of the vending machines". God, who comes up with this awful crap? Hey, I bet they could apply for a job with WWE creative the common denominator is both suck! Quote

At least with your precious WCW we'll get to see stuff like this right? Quote
Judders Posted June 28, 2014 Posted June 28, 2014 It doesn't even look like they put that much work into 30 Years and Attitude Era mode Not that much work? Attitude Era gave us a bunch of models, themes, videos and entrances we've never had before. 30years gave us 30 Wrestlemania arenas, more models we've never had as well as special authentic entrances for the WM mode. Saying that isn't a lot of work is silly. WCW we'll get to see stuff like this right? Yeah... Because that sums up all of WCW right? How about it sums up your precious Ruthless Aggression era? We can all find GIF's or Video's when it makes our argument seem stronger. Fact is, people will love a WCW mode and some won't. Some would love an NXT career type mode, some won't. You've got to stop jumping on people who would prefer the latter. 1 Quote
best in the world Posted June 29, 2014 Posted June 29, 2014 @RatedRLionTamer: I'm not going to post the videos, but I do watch NXT. And if I so chose to, I could post ridiculous gifs or videos of dumb things that WWE chooses to do in NXT. Mojo Rawley, anyone? The difference between you and I is that I will not whine about those who say they want an NXT mode. Its a matter of personal preference really and at least for all the bad moments WCW had, they had ten times that in great moments. Something NXT cannot claim as of right now. NXT isn't as well known as a WCW was and to compare the two is quite foolish and oblivious in my view..... Quote

the King Lives Posted June 29, 2014 Posted June 29, 2014 I just hate how they put so much focus on the nostalgia modes then half-ass stuff like universe and gameplay. It's extremely annoying. that's what annoyed me.. universe hasn't had any type of innovation really since wwe12.. and they removed you getting damage from a cutscene attack. I liked in svr11 where if someone ran in and knocked out both wrestlers if you got up and went for the pin, you could get either a near fall or 3 count Then they removed taker's specific lights of run in. I think that only happens during the streak mode now.. I don't like undertaker running to the ring during interference Quote
best in the world Posted June 29, 2014 Posted June 29, 2014 @RatedRLionTamer: I am definitely with you on the whole Universe and gameplay being half-assed. As for the so-called "nostalgia modes" I think it is cool that THQ and 2K both want to implement those into the games. It gives all these kids who watch WWE today to see what real stars and real wrestling was about. Although I think some current stars are good, they don't begin to measure up to the stars of the 80s and 90s. Some of the newer generation can definitely out perform the older guys in the ring with moves but cannot begin to come close to being characters like the Golden Era guys or more specifically the Attitude Era guys. As for the problems in universe mode, that really pisses me off. 2K14 freezes any time you try to edit details which is ironically the best part of WWE Universe in the game. 2K definitely need to try and perfect that in upcoming games because 2K14 had a lot of cool updates that past games didn't. I do hate how even though Kane's lights go off when he interferes, he still runs in the ring. He should walk down the ramp slowly when interfering to give that monster effect to it. Hopefully with Visual Concepts collaborating with Yukes they can put consistent focus within each game mode to give the player a reason to play this game as I like to play a game with effort and thought actually implemented into it and that's what's been missing in these last few games. best in the world Posted June 30, 2014 Posted June 30, 2014 It would be cool if 2K implemented character specific interference cut scenes. That way Kane or Taker would interfere with their correct entrances being all slow and methodical. Quote
AgeofSandow Posted July 1, 2014 Posted July 1, 2014 I think the WWE Network would give people the chance to relive the past. It's very easy to do now. Plus, it would be almost impossible to do a good WCW mode. Nearly every main event ended in a dq or other screwy finish? Plus, a cool career mode would be better. My idea is you have a full career as a wrestler. You begin in NXT and go up the ranks, move to RAW, and go through a normal career, complete with ups and downs, injuries, rejection from the crowd, trouble backstage. It would involve you having a system of promo "types" and you developing spots that get over with the crowd. I posted the full thing on the SDH if you want to see it. Would be so awesome to have. If both were possible, even better; but I think that isn't going to happen. Quote

best in the world Posted July 1, 2014 Posted July 1, 2014 @AgeofSandow: If you look at any wrestling whether it is WWE, TNA, WCW, NWA, or NXT there have always been "screwy endings or DQs". So saying that alone makes a WCW Mode not worth pursuing is just wrong. WWE has yet to reveal whether or not Sting will be the pre-order bonus for 2K15, but if the rumors are true it makes sense to do a WCW themed mode. Think about it: Ric Flair, Hulk Hogan/Hollywood Hogan, Hall, Nash, Goldberg, Scott Steiner, Syxx, Curt Hennig, Macho Man[NWO],The Giant, Rick Rude, Jake Roberts, Dusty Rhodes, and Virgil were all included in 2K14 as DLC. All people who at one time or another passed through WCW. And in WWE '13, we got to relive the "Attitude Era" through that mode. We didn't see any of the perspective from the WCW side of things. To me, it's a natural fit if they bring back all those DLC characters, the regular 30 Years of Mania roster, and have Sting as the bonus. If ever there were a perfect time to bring out a WCW themed mode it would be in 2K15 so that adding Sting as the bonus isn't just gratuitous & for the sake of doing it. Sting in the context of a WCW Mode makes sense and would allow a retro mode while having the main roster to play as too. A win-win in my opinion and 2K has a history of doing nostalgic things with their NBA games..... Quote
