Smacktalks Posted June 11, 2014 Posted June 11, 2014 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F765HXJ4dlsThe first details on WWE 2K15 have began to emerge with a new article from Game Informer who attended yesterday's 2K media briefing at E3, revealing some new confirmations.First up, Visual Concepts have a much bigger role in this years game and that they've brought in the scanning technology that they use in the NBA2K series, with the team attending various WWE shows and scanning in 90% of the in-game roster. In the footage shown of superstars being scanned, Hulk Hogan was shown, but so far we've only seen a render for his classic model, so there's a chance we may also get a more up to date Hogan included. To show off the power of this technology the media briefing also showed side by side comparisons of the models and their real life counter-parts, with comparisons shown of John Cena, A.J. Lee and Daniel Bryan, with the article noting that the hair, skin, faces and ring gear are all majorly upgraded.Because the rig that 2K use to scan in superstars features a full 360 degree camera system to capture facial expressions, the briefing also featured a John Cena demo showing off various facial expressions that had been captured for inclusion in the game so superstars react as they would on TV, showing lifelike expressions of pain, excitement and exertion that will add to the overall visual presentation.Unfortunately, there was no gameplay shown at the briefing so the article doesn't have any details on any of those changes, but they do reveal that the new motion capture studio features a full WWE ring which was setup by a real WWE ring technician and has resulted in the studio being able to capture FIVE times the number of animations in 2K14.More good news coming out of the briefing is that the WrestleMania cutoff date has been extended by a few months, meaning the likes of Bo Dallas and Adam Rose who debuted after WrestleMania this year have a much better chance of making it into this years game. For me, one of the best bits of news to come out of the article is that the audio has been given a complete overhaul, with 5 times the sound of last years game included and for the first time, Jerry "The King" Lawler and Michael Cole have recorded commentary together instead of seperately, meaning we'll actually hear them discuss what's happening in the match this year, with an example of them discussing Undertaker's Hell's Gate submission given. In total there is said to be 30 to 35 hours of commentary per announcer to keep things fresh and prevent hearing constant repeats. The article does say that 2K aren't yet revealing the theme of this years game so we'll have to wait for that, but we do know some of this years roster which includes:- AJ Lee- Bray Wyatt- Cesaro- Daniel Bryan- John Cena- Hulk Hogan (Classic)- Roman ReignsAlongside the classic Hulk Hogan we may also see the Ultimate Warrior, because his render was shown at the beginning of a teaser video at the 2K booth with an "In Memory of" message which is a really nice touch and can be viewed embedded in the video below: Source: Game Informer 1 Quote
the King Lives Posted June 11, 2014 Posted June 11, 2014 Nice Video Paul! and yeah i'm very excited, hopefully all of the THQ feels will be gone without removing anything lol 1 Quote

BEAST987 Posted June 11, 2014 Posted June 11, 2014 Great news so far I'm wondering would it be better buying it on the next gen consoles rather than the XBOX 360 version ??? Quote
AgeofSandow Posted June 11, 2014 Posted June 11, 2014 Wondering what "5x the animations of 2K14" means. That many new moves? Different sells for each move? More realistic counters? Better getting up/falling animations? Will be great with any of these, but only time will tell which it is. Liking the extension of the cut-off date. Every year, I find myself downloading CAWS, updating face/heel alignment, attires, finishers or signatures, since a lot happens in a few months. Hopefully, like this, more people will get into the game and will leave room for better DLC options. Quote
the King Lives Posted June 11, 2014 Posted June 11, 2014 ^animations, sells, taunts, entrance motions, expressions, they are all considered animations Quote
best in the world Posted June 11, 2014 Posted June 11, 2014 I'm glad that Game Informer article turned out to be real. This WWE game series has needed an upgrade for a long time and there haven't been many big changes done in years. WWE '12 was the last time we were promised an upgrade with the "Predator Technology" and it winded up being bad for the series and steps back in most regards. Hopefully 2K can implement all of these changes and make it possible without all the glitches and freezing issues, especially where WWE Universe mode is concerned. I honestly haven't been excited for a new WWE game since the later Smackdown titles like Just Bring It or Here Comes The Pain so WWE 2K15 will be the first game in ages that I am pumped to see the changes in. With Visual Concepts trying to upgrade the graphics and Yukes continuing the gameplay, we could see the first great WWE game since the older titles..... Quote
AgeofSandow Posted June 11, 2014 Posted June 11, 2014 ^animations, sells, taunts, entrance motions, expressions, they are all considered animations Makes sense. Cause I have no idea how they could add 900 moves. Quote
the King Lives Posted June 11, 2014 Posted June 11, 2014 yeah i learned that a long time ago that animations and moves don't just count the moves but anything that considers animation Quote
best in the world Posted June 11, 2014 Posted June 11, 2014 @AgeofSandow: I was curious as to what they meant exactly myself. That could just mean an expanded roster and the other animations are simply more that come from different roster members and their new moves, entrances, etc. Or it could mean that with the new motion capture with the ring, that there's more time to capture more moves and other accompanying animations. Who knows? I was expecting 2K15 to be another yearly installment in the series with minor updates but now 2K have piqued my interest and I cannot wait to see in-game videos. It'd be nice if IGN went old school on us and brought back the wrestler of the day thing like they did with the Smackdown series that they called "Smackdown countdown" where they featured a single WWE Superstar each day with detailed videos featuring entrances and finishers. Same as what 2K did in 2K14 with last year's only more in depth...... Quote
the King Lives Posted June 11, 2014 Posted June 11, 2014 ^no it's definitely what i said, they explained this back when svr11 came out (thank you Mr Stephenson!) but yeah i agree with you too @Bestintheworld. I didn't like the whole predador tech upgrades at all lol Quote

Same as what 2K did in 2K14 with last year's only more in depth...... I was trying to think of new animations they could add, and though there are quite a few, I couldn't think of that many. If these end up being new getting up/lying down animations(rolling on floor, going for ropes, and other realistic things) I would definitely be interesting in buying the game. Quote
best in the world Posted June 11, 2014 Posted June 11, 2014 @jeffsdomain: I think THQ mistakenly thought using the same setup with a different name would get more people interested, which is why they bragged about the "Predator Technology". The problem is that the new engine caused more problems than it solved and nothing really changed. As for the 5 times the animations, who knows what they really mean by that? Until 2K officially clarifies their meaning, it's all basic yearly speculation. @AgeofSandow: I personally think that 2K will try to add more animations, entrances, and other extras that may have been left out of other WWE games. Plus the explanation Jeff gave kinda makes sense. I hope 2K adds some of the animations of moves & entrances that were in previous games but removed for whatever reasons. One thing that surprises me is that Visual Concepts will be using an actual ring for their mo-caps for animations so the possibilities are endless and only restricted by time limits. How far it goes is really up to the developers..... Quote
ajleesus Posted June 12, 2014 Posted June 12, 2014 Naomi was also said to be playable this year!!! Quote
AgeofSandow Posted June 12, 2014 Posted June 12, 2014 we don't have the 2 liars we had last year promoting the game, however. Quote
the King Lives Posted June 15, 2014 Posted June 15, 2014 we don't have the 2 liars we had last year promoting the game, however. amen to that but i'd have to say that Aubrey was the bigger of the 2 evils.. LOL Quote

the King Lives Posted June 15, 2014 Posted June 15, 2014 i personally didn't have an issue with cory. Even when i complained about the issues etc he actually apoplogized. THQ Tank (aka aaron haufman) was pretty awesome too. I won a tweetup back in 2011 and won a copy of wwe allstars. I never received it, WWE12 was about to drop. I contacted him on twitter and not only did he apologize, but he sent me a copy of WWE All-stars, WWE 12, a WWE 12 Guide, a WWE 12 T-Shirt, and 2 DVD's (best of Raw/Smackdown 2011 and I think edge's first dvd) i think that was pretty cool and showed that not all the people there were bad. Aaron was community manager alongside Marcus stephenson at the time. Marcus was cool too. Aubrey really was the only one that i didn't like and that blocked me on twitter for voicing my opinions/concerns about the series. Bryan Williams even answered my questions about a running legdrop in 13 and sting's scorpion deathdrop in 14. So yeah it's good when you have people that actually care. I didn't blame cory much, because i got where he was coming from, getting all types of crazy ideas (good and bad) coming from all over, and knowing that it's hard to get everything in a yearly game, someone's always going to be upset. I know alot of people didn't like him, but like i said i definitely saw some good things in him. Aubrey on the other hand, struck me the wrong way from day one. He was always insulting people, blocking people that second guessed him. That's just not how you do things. Plus all he seemed to care about is his sorry Comic book franchise or whatever LOL okay rant over but i think i pretty much described the good bad and ugly out of all the THQ members LOL Quote
Yin Yang Bought In Posted June 15, 2014 Posted June 15, 2014 Corey and I used to banter back n forth on twitter after he announced (WWE 12) Jacob Cass' "death" Quote
the King Lives Posted June 16, 2014 Posted June 16, 2014 yeah i think B will is still with WWEgames. his MO is pretty much the same, he only talks about wrestling mostly which is what he always does which is good Quote
C-Squared Posted June 18, 2014 Posted June 18, 2014 I've had this question stuck in my head for a week now and hopefully i'm in the right place to share and maybe get some thoughts from everyone here. In the article, it's stated 90% of the roster has been scanned for the game. I'm curious about the other 5% that have yet or can't be scanned. Who could they be? Legends maybe? Plus I'd like to know if Undertaker has yet to be scanned or he did during wrestlemania season. I'd like to hear all of your opinons! Quote

Guys like Taker, Rock, Austin, and many others who were in town for Mania weekend were probably scanned then. Even Jericho has mentioned he might've been scanned. Quote
