@AgeofSandow: A WCW themed mode makes perfect sense. Would that be nostalgic? Hell yes! That's kind of the point. WWE '13 had the WWF perspective of the Monday Night Wars. WCW is a trademark of WWE now so putting it into the game as a theme if done right could be pretty cool. The problem with using NXT for a mode is that it hasn't been around all that long so most casual fans aren't acquainted with that show or the talents used therein. To be honest, I see maybe 2 or 3 guys on NXT that have potential and the rest like Mojo Rawley are just taking up roster space with no real talent. If NXT had been around awhile and had a storied history for content, then I might could see using that mode.

@RatedRLionTamer: I don't know that everyone would want to play with NXT talents. Especially those who don't get NXT via WWE Network. NXT is just a system within WWE to develop the same generic cookie cutter awfully named talents who might one day be called up to the main roster. I will admit some guys like Sami Zayn or Adrian Neville would be fun to play as, but who buys the WWE games to play as NXT talents? I know when I play these games and I play the first match, I wouldn't be looking to use an NXT character first and I'm sure most others wouldn't either.....

NXT roster cookie cutter? Tyler Breeze? Corey Graves? Aiden English? BFFs? How about Wyatts? Bo Dallas? Paige? Rusev? The NXT is full of awesome people.

@AgeofSandow:  Yes, NXT is about as generic and cookie cutter as it gets!  Tyler Breeze?  You mean the male model with awful mic skills and decent in-ring work?  I haven't seen Corey Graves, so I can't say anything one way or the other about him.  Aiden English I haven't seen much of either, so same as Graves.  BFFS?  Don't get me started on the Wyatts!  While I'll admit that Luke Harper is very agile and quick for a big man, I have never been a fan of Bray Wyatt or the whole Wyatt Family gimmick.  To me, Bray Wyatt is the epitome of why fans these days will accept anyone even if they suck and why most fans are considered sheep.  Tell me, what has Bray Wyatt actually done?  Oh yeah, he sings that lame ass Sunday School song and speaks non-sense promos that really don't say anything.  People are always buzzing about how Wyatt is the most interesting and charismatic new star to come along but I don't see it!  I'm sure there are those who will jump all over that but Bray Wyatt is not a star in my view.  Some people you like and some people you don't as a fan of the product and Bray is just one of those I don't like and that won't change until he actually does something worthy of mention other than singing awful rhymes and long drawn out boring promos.  Bo Dallas?  You mean Bray-Light who keeps making shitty puns on his BO name?  Sorry, I'm not easily impressed and Bo Dallas hasn't shown me anything.  Paige?  You mean Sheamus' sister?  She is pretty good in the ring but she lacks character.  Rusev?  I like his agility and how he moves for a big man, but same with no character.  He only has Lana to make him interesting.

I respect other people and their right to disagree.  If people think NXT is awesome, that's their right to believe so.  All I have seen thus far is a bunch of generic talents with awful names.  I think Sami Zayn and Adrian Neville are the two exceptions who stand out and could have potential if pushed right and given the right role.  Until NXT has been around awhile and has had history longer than beyond months, I don't think casual fans would appreciate that mode in the game.  People want to play as big name stars and not jobbers from a developmental system.  Potential is great but stars make money and while NXT has potential, it doesn't have real stars.  Making a 30 Years of WrestleMania mode, Ruthless Aggression era mode, or WCW Mode may be considered "nostalgic" but at least those different eras had unique personalities and real stars which is why I as a fan would want any of those modes over an NXT mode for the theme this year.  Plus the whole rising through the ranks with an unknown star has been done enough in past WWE game titles......

I totally agree with you on the Bray Watt part. To me Bray Wyatt is a wrestler on meth with two guys that look like the Highlanders on steriods. His gimmick is stupid, he says "we're here" blows the lamp out and turns it back on so we can see his face while 2 giant hobos carry the "mystical" chair dow to ringside. I can't even get into NXT like everyone else knowing there is a 80% chance that talent is going to be watered down and wasted. WWE can and should be able to push their talent with and without rivialries and storylines... They've done it before. When is the last time you have see a tornado tag, fatal four way, triple threat, elimination by pin battle royal on Raw or Smackdown in the past 2 or 3 years. I remember they were trying to push Edge and Eddie as main eventers in a fatal four way for a no.1 contendership for the WWE title. That was one of the best matches I have seen on Smackdown. There was no rivalry between them. They don't need not a rivialry to satisfy fans they need a great performence and great matches to satisfy us... because I know I'm not the only one who is tired of seeing singles and tags 24/7. You can hate tyler breezes gimmick but to call him awful on the mic is crazy, he USED to be bad on the mic but he settled into his character and has gotten really good as of late. You call WWE fans sheep. Though people do tend to go with a majority calling them sheep is a horrible thing to say because no matter what at the end of the day every one of us will have different views on different people. Saying Bray sucks is crazy. I understand that everyone has an opinion but saying he sucks is at a whole different level! long drawn out; non-sense promos ok. that statement is insane. If a man can stand in the middle of a ring with a mic in his hand talking for as long as WWE will let him why wouldn't they take advantage of that? It isn't drawn-out because it is long, it is drawn out if it is longer then it should be. And no, Bray is amazing on the mic and I could listen to him talk all day regardless of what he is talking about. tell me what bray wyatt has actually done well okay. To start he has feuded with the two faces of the company Daniel Bryan and John Cena, has been cutting good promos week after week, been in one of the best last man standing matches of all time and consistently puts on stellar performances. until NXT has had history longer then beyond months Uh.. what? I now know you don't have a clue what you are talking about! NXT was rebranded from FCW late 2012. Bit longer then months even if you don't count FCW! It's not even the aspect of NXT in general making people want the mode it is the idea of creating a superstar and having him fight his way through NXT all the way to main eventing wrestlemania that is making the majority of people who want an NXT mode... want an NXT mode! Yes it may have been done in previous WWE titles but not done well or to its full potential! nostalgic modes have been done to death. Time to move onto something new.

I dont think 2K15 will have a theme. I feel the last 2 games were themed because THQ was running out of Ideas for story mode.

My opinions are still that they need to do a decent Golden Era, InVasion and Ruthless Agression theme.

@Nate:  I call Tyler Breeze awful because quite frankly he is on the mic.  Admittedly, I am not a big fan of the whole Zoolander type of gimmick doing the selfies and all.  I will admit that he is decent in the ring, but until he actually shows me something more than just having decent skills inside the ring he is no different than any jobber coming through the ranks that has gotten the basics down.  I call most WWE fans sheep, not all of them mind you.  I used Bray Wyatt as the prime example of this because he is someone the internet buzzes about despite having done NOTHING.  Please, try to change my mind on it:  what has Bray Wyatt done?  Enlighten me.  Because saying he is great because he feuded with top stars isn't a claim of greatness in my view.  And you say I don't have a clue what I am talking about?  Well, to me it's quite the opposite: you saying Bray Wyatt has "good promos" or "stellar performances" shows how little knowledge you have.  Especially if we are talking about real stars and not just what passes for stars these days in WWE.  Look at past top stars like Hulk Hogan, Macho Man, Stone Cold, and The Rock.  Then compare the real stars I listed to Bray Wyatt.  Bray Wyatt is not a star.  He is a poor imitation of one.  If you think he's the best thing to come along since sliced bread that is your opinion, and you are entitled to think so.  But having that opinion does not make it fact.  Which is my problem with how you stated it, as if it's a known fact that Bray Wyatt is great.  I was honestly open minded about Wyatt when they repackaged him and put him back on WWE TV.  I was willing to give him a shot and see if going back to developmental improved him.  Thus far, he has done nothing impressive.  Just cutting the same weird ass promos and singing a stupid Sunday school song week after week and the sheep follow.  Lastly, I said NXT had "months" instead of years because they have only had exposure from WWE for the last few months, not that they had only been around for months.  Actually take the time to read what I post and not what you incorrectly infer from what I post.  In my opinion, the only really great talent that has come from NXT was their very first champion, Seth Rollins/Tyler Black.  See, I do actually know the history.  The difference between the two of us is that I don't suck up everything WWE does these days and accept it as good.  If talents are great, they don't need to be shoved down our throats like Bray Wyatt has been.  WWE has failed to make a single real star from NXT that could actually carry the company aside from maybe Rollins and that's because they are all manufactured from WWE these days.  Cookie cutter and generic as they come with awful ring names and even worse personalities.  Which is reason number one why I don't want an NXT mode in WWE 2K15, it would not be fun to rise up through NXT and then onto WWE.  As nostalgic as Ruthless Aggression Mode may be Eddie Guerrero was greater than all of NXT put together......

I'd like the game to actually evolve and be a competent game.

Posted

I don't see why it needs a theme tbh. All that does is alienate certain people and take away from things that would be of real benefit to the game. The older games didn't have themes, and tbh they were for the most part much better because of it.

Bray Wyatt is a star. The greats often had minimal wrestling skills and were good talkers. Wyatt is this. He is insanely creepy and really plays his character; he scares people. His family play the part of brainwashed, crazed followers. Harpers "YEAAAHH" and crazy eyes show this. Love how you're going to let your dislike for ONE guy balance your argument. Look at NXT as a whole. It's very polished. As fufu said, people want an NXT mode(custom character, rise to top in Universe-like mode that is different for everybody), but that requires NXT itself. So it must be done.

@AgeofSandow:  Like I said earlier, I don't view Bray Wyatt as a star at all.  He hasn't done even one thing to stand out or make his mark.  Usually stars have breakout moments that let the world know who they are and that they've arrived.  I'm my view, Bray Wyatt hasn't done that yet.  He has the potential to do that but so far he hasn't.  And maybe it is because WWE isn't letting talents be themselves, who knows?  But it is painfully obvious every time I see a Bray Wyatt promo that he isn't being real.  He's talking some random weird shit just for the sake of doing so.  When a character is being real and being themselves it is natural and they become stars.  Until Bray starts improving, I don't see him as a top star for WWE.  I'm probably in the minority here, but I haven't seen anything from Wyatt that makes me want to see more.

As for NXT, I don't see polished at all when I watch it.  Granted I have only been watching since I got WWE Network, but I don't see stories being told in the ring.  I don't see personality.  All I see is a bunch of potential with awful ring names and half assed booking.  You know, WWE's norm.  You see it when you watch the main roster and it happens in NXT as well.  I'd really like to say I enjoy the NXT product but it just isn't to the level of being "must see".  Of course, I actually watch WWE with the hope that their shows improve.  As far as an NXT Mode for a game theme, I just do not see it working.  Having a nobody rise up through the ranks to the main show was done on Gamecube titles like Day Of Reckoning/DOR 2 and also in WWE '12 with the Jacob Cass section of the RTWM.  Until NXT has a storied history with several unique and diverse talents that actually tell a story worth telling, I don't see that mode working in WWE 2K15.

Selfish legend fan is selfish. Jacob Cass was a RTWM, not a career mode. You had no choice which changed the course of the story which is one of the reasons people want Season Mode back. Season Mode gave us new choices which we didn't know the outcome of each of them. Everyone knows what's gonna happen in WCW mode, they're just gonna describe WWE's superiority as much as they can, now who the hell wants to play a match where we already know EXACTLY what's gonna happen? Nobody but you and like 3 other people want a nostalgic mode. And you're asking who's gonna want to play as NXT Talents? If the average WWE Fan gets even a sneak peek at Graves, Breeze, Zayn, Neville, Rawley or Konnor and Viktor then NXT would be the most demanded by the fans.

okay this is where I stop you in your tracks.. You say you want an nxt mode.  I can respect that.  But at the same time you're pretty much drooling over the fact that CM Punk isn't or is going to be in the game.  You always say you want a current game with a current wwe and nxt roster.. well, CM Punk isn't on the roster, hell he's not even in wwe.  So in a sense.. they could include punk as a legend and you would be all giddy about it.  My point is, you can't sit there and always have your way.  Yeah most of us like legends and if they did the WCW mode right I think it would be fun.  Think of the bigger picture, you'd possibly get newer match types like War Games, World War 3, things of that nature.  But you are going off again about how us legend lovers are selfish.

If it wasn't for OUR legends, your today characters wouldn't even be in wwe right now.  Think about it. Then Deal wit it
