Tamer™ Posted May 21, 2014 Posted May 21, 2014 Seems good, could be a better film title but it's good. Quote
Gamevolt Posted May 21, 2014 Posted May 21, 2014 Good to see Batman get top billing in the Man of Steel sequel Quote
delete Posted May 21, 2014 Author Posted May 21, 2014 Seems good, could be a better film title but it's good. I think this is the first step in the start of the Justice League film coming up, hence the name. Good to see Batman get top billing in the Man of Steel sequel If Batman's gonna be rebooted, it should've started out on it's own not with Superman. I'm kind of annoyed at that but it looks like Batman's gonna get more billing. Quote
Aero Posted May 21, 2014 Posted May 21, 2014 This isn't a batman reboot, its a sequel to man of steel and a prelude to the justice league.... Expect to see cameos from the lesser justice league members in this movie Quote

fufu ÷ Posted May 23, 2014 Posted May 23, 2014 It'll be shitty, like most superhero movies, although not Marvel level bad. Quote
Arage™ Posted May 23, 2014 Posted May 23, 2014 It'll be shitty, like most superhero movies, although not Marvel level bad. The Dark Knight was actually a pretty good movie. Not sure about this one being good though. Quote
Aero Posted May 23, 2014 Posted May 23, 2014 Marvel have had some good movies fufu... If anything, other than the dark knight trilogy, its DC that's generally been woeful at making movies Quote
The 4th Doctor Posted May 23, 2014 Posted May 23, 2014 Marvel Movies are not bad The Iron Man movies are great Avengers was awesome Spider man's are decent Xmen DOFP looks epic and The Wolverine was badass. Quote
principe Posted May 23, 2014 Posted May 23, 2014 You guys do know their is a Marvel & DC thread where you can post stuff like this? Quote
fufu ÷ Posted May 23, 2014 Posted May 23, 2014 Iron Man is one of the worst movies i've had the displeasure of seeing, and Robert Downey Jr is one of the worst actors Hollywood has ever forced down the throats of the saps who fund this garbage. I struggle to think of any superhero film that goes above 'meh' that wasn't in the Nolan trilogy. Quote
Fozy Posted May 23, 2014 Posted May 23, 2014 Yeah, fufu is pretty fucking crazy. Robert Downey Jr. is a fucking awesome actor. He IS Tony Stark. You just don't like comic book movies so your opinion is grossly invalid. Iron Man 2 was pretty terrible though, 3 was pretty decent. Also, he's awesome in Kiss Kiss Bang Bang and A Scanner Darkly. Two greatly under-appreciated movies. Quote
fufu ÷ Posted May 23, 2014 Posted May 23, 2014 I liked a lot of them when I was a kid. Couldn't get enough of Batman back then. I had a whole bunch of Iron Man and Batman comics. But having studied film, I have little tolerance for shitty films, and with very few exceptions, super hero movies are shitty. They are nothing more than cashcows for studios - because comic book fans will always pay to see them regardless of how terrible they are. Robert Downey jr is not an actor, because he doesn't portray a character. He portrays himself, dressed up as a character. He is garbage. Quote
Fozy Posted May 23, 2014 Posted May 23, 2014 I know a lot of people who studied lots of things, it doesn't make them any where near an expert. To which you're clearly not, as being the biggest name in Hollywood and yet you call him garbage kind of defeats your point. Quote
fufu ÷ Posted May 23, 2014 Posted May 23, 2014 (edited) I'd bet i'm a damn site more knowledgeable than you. Hollywood is not the be all and end all of cinema. He's famous because he's a white, 6ft male with good looks and a famous father. Acting talent is not alone what makes a star in Hollywood - especially in this generation. His performances have never been anything above 'okay'. He may not be garbage, but if you can't understand simple hyperbole then I doubt you'll understand much about the film industry. You can go back to actors like Rock Hudson who were the biggest names of their time, but not particularly great actors. Hollywood is looks > talent, and probably always will be. although this has all gotten a far cry away from Batman v Superman. Edited May 23, 2014 by fufu ♡ Quote
Fozy Posted May 23, 2014 Posted May 23, 2014 Stop being such a fucking elitist. He's famous because of Iron Man and Sherlock Holmes. I don't know how you can deny his performances in KKBB and Sherlock. He was also born to play Iron Man; name me an actor who could do a better job. Have you thought to yourself that you're just not a fan of his work? Stop putting your own views over the critiques of the man's capability. He is no Christian Bale, but he's still a great actor. Credit where it's due. Quote
fufu ÷ Posted May 23, 2014 Posted May 23, 2014 If i was a fan of his work, then surely i'd find him to be a good actor, which I don't. I think he's pretty good when it comes to more comedy based stuff, but anything that is going much beyond that is past him. There's never been a big screen version of Iron Man to compare him to, however he's not much like the Iron Man of the comics or cartoons. The version Downey Jr plays, to me, is just himself. Realistically, you could put anyone in the role, since he was kinda bland anyway. My gripe with those films isn't just him, but the films as a whole. The first is pretty damn awful from start to finish. I will go as far as 'pretty good' actor. He's not a 'great' actor, because he can pretty much only play hyperbolic versions of himself, but he is good at that part of his game. Quote
fufu ÷ Posted May 23, 2014 Posted May 23, 2014 Hard to say really. Hana-bi is one, and i'd probably say it's number one. Although I do have a soft spot for Carlito's Way as well. And Wolf Children too. Quote
