The Don Posted May 15, 2014 Posted May 15, 2014 After not heaving a steady job/source of income for the past few years I recently started working at a casino/hotel here in Minnesota. I'm not a dealer or anything cool like that, I'm just in wardrobe giving the employees their uniforms and whatnot. But I've known my supervisor since I was 3, and today she came up to me to let me know that her boss is quite happy and impressed with my workrate and overall performance and is planning on offering me a full time job on 2nd shift. This is awesome for me since I haven't had an actual steady job in awhile and I've worked with most of the girls I'd be with on second shift, each one of them is super sweet and know their shit. But the kicker is that she knows I eventually want to be in surveillance but to even be considered for that you need to spend about a year or two on security... And for security you need at least 3 months casino experience. This potential job offering would be those three months I need. Then I just need to do a good job, find out what requirements are needed and maybe kiss a little ass while biding my time. Security and surveillance might sound boring/stupid to some people but this is something I'd been aiming for since about 09 when I worked for them. And while doing a little Googling (in an attempt to find out what they look for) I found out that their surveillance setup is kind of a big deal. So go me! I'll know for sure if I get that second shift position by the end of the month and I've been keeping a good rapport with security feeling it out and their response to me wanting to work with them has been overwhelmingly positive. Now for a Gentleman Jack on the rock to celebrate my potental future and first day off in a little under 2 weeks! Cheers gentlemen... and ladies. Quote
The Don Posted May 15, 2014 Author Posted May 15, 2014 Thanks It's a little strange being there again since I worked for them (in dry cleaning) about 4 or 5 years ago and left after a dumbass misunderstanding (don't have more pride than braincells children!) and just yesterday I saw my old boss and supervisor, both of them said they'd like to have me back there come June or July. I went from more or less thinking Walmart was the only option to having a good job and one, if not two, potential jobs waiting for me once this current tour of duty is done. My main goal is surviving this current stint. I wasn't scheduled tomorrow (or any days) off with the intention to "make hay while the sun shines" since I'd be a good amount of overtime but considering my shoes got so worn out my legs have been cramped and hurting all week the boss offered. You want to have some fun? Spend 8.5 hours a day on your feet, 10 days in a row walking on concrete in your flip-flops... Quote
