Wow..... the boy shows his age with that one. You've tried to be smart (which I commend), but in doing so said something stupid because you don't understand enough. Let me blow your mind for a minute, you can be religious and be atheist. Atheism relates only to the lack of belief in gods, or higher beings in a broader sense. Many recognised religions aren't based entirely around gods, instead focusing on spirituality. Many Buddhists are atheists for example.

 

So the answers in the poll are very strange "Yes (believer or not)", well I guess by 'believer' you mean in God (because you're clearly of some Christianity based religion), which if you were not a believer in, you're an atheist. And the many religions of Christ do not welcome non-believers, it's a core fundamental of the religion. Then you have "No (atheist)", but you can not be religious but also want to hedge you bets a bit and be undecided on gods and such. This is called being agnostic, essentially, not giving a fuck about it all.

 

Sooo essentially just a simple yes or no was the best way to word your answers. In fact, if anything atheism recently has taken a real organisational approach to the belief of their not being gods, there's group meetings, webpages of atheist institutes, information pamphlets etc....kinda sounds like a religion right...
