You need to be skilled enough with a soldering iron to delicately attach parts to your XBox360's motherboard - really it's not an easy thing to do and I think you're probably on the wrong forum to be asking for help on the subject.

 

Go on Youtube to get an idea for what level of difficulty you'll be setting yourself up for.

 

 

To be honest with you, I'd hazard a guess that 90%+ of the guys on this forum who own a JTag either bought it pre-modded or paid someone else to do it!

In all honesty if you have never soldered before I would get it done professionally. That way you know it's done right and to a reasonable level. No point half assing it yourself and ending up with an Xbox that is just another paper weight.

...I think as well, the chances of finding a JTag-able console that isn't already dead  (or on the verge of death) is pretty slim these days

is it not only open the xbox and flash the DVDR-W drive with a Firmware ?

That will just allow you to play backups, it won't let you use 'unsigned' code (homebrew, XBLA titles, DLC, etc) which is what JTag or RGH can do for you
