waleed.619 Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 I miss the soundtracks we had in the older wwe games , is there a way to replace the generic music with custom songs ? Quote
UndertakerWLF Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 Unfortunatley not at the moment, all the music is split up into chunks within the file a great deal of reverse engineering is going to be required to mod the sound... The audio side to my knowledge has never been modded for the PS3/360 and I don't think it will be any time soon. Quote
Dead-Account Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 Turn every song off on jukebox & play songs through your console? Or buy a MP3/laptop & listen to music from there? Quote
UndertakerWLF Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 Just for something to do I had a look at the header of the Game_Sound_RSX.pac file, I don't have the other files with me. The header itself tells you: The ChunkID (RIFFX) The size of the Chunk Format (In this case its WAVE) Audio format (PCM etc...) Number of channels the audio has The sample Rate Byte Rate Bits per sample for example 8,16,24,32 There is more information in the header but as of yet I have not worked out what the remainder values represent... I guess it's so complicated now due to the high levels of compression required to fit everything on the disc... Quote
UndertakerWLF Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 There is alot that goes into the music in the later games, basically Everything is contained within ausio banks (bnk), within this you can also expect to see multilpe audio files, it gets better...the HIRC header contains the informatiion that calls the specific sound in the game as well as set file lengths for the audio. Just one bank can contain over 100 files.. I extracted all the audio from one the files however it is not playable without converting the file, if I can 1st get it converted and playable maybe then I can reverse it and put it back in the file...but that is a very very long shot! UndertakerWLF Posted April 2, 2014 Posted April 2, 2014 I have placed a request at Wwise website to trial the PS3 Wwise SDK to help decipher the audio...it's pending auth at the moment. Fingers crossed I can get it otherwise the ausio is going to be tough to crack. Quote
Andy Posted April 2, 2014 Posted April 2, 2014 It would be perfect to delete the commentary Name when playing. I mean when i replace a Wrestler with a other one from WWE13 or 12. Cool Taker hope it gets finished by your friends and you. Quote
UndertakerWLF Posted April 5, 2014 Posted April 5, 2014 I've now extracted the commentary..theres 14,051 files lol and there not named either so finding the one you want to replace is going to take a looooong while lol, now I just need to find a method of changing them back into Riffx... Quote

This reminds me of something I was planning back in my PS2 modding days - I was thinking of replacing some of the basic commentary files (moves, etc) with me and one of my mates calling it instead. I really wish now that I'd gotten around to doing that! (if you ever saw the version of Cactus Jack vs Terry Funk in the exploding-ring-death-match where ICP have dubbed on there own commentary, that was the sort of thing I was going to go for) Edited April 6, 2014 by El Guapo Quote
UndertakerWLF Posted April 6, 2014 Posted April 6, 2014 The headers are pretty easy to figure out, I am currently finding out what settings work in Wwise...I can export the files and can compress them but not in the same format which makes me think it's something specific within the wwise xbox/ps3 sdk.Going to see if I can find a work around though. UndertakerWLF Posted April 6, 2014 Posted April 6, 2014 I've got a track inserted, the good thing is that the games music still plays. Normally if a change is made the music will refuse to work. The bad news is my audio track fails to play...going to have a look at it a little more after Mania Quote
