iamthedoctor Posted March 21, 2014 Posted March 21, 2014 For me it's 2K14 because of numerous of reasons. I love the fact they gave us a 100 caw slots and I sure put them to use that I couldn't do in previous series and also it had more gameplay modes, more creative content and a pretty large roster. However I had no problem with WWE 13 and it was my favorite themed game based off a era I grew up in, so, it was a great game in itself. Now since that was said i'm going to go play some Smackdown 1 on my Playstation. While 100 CAWs is great I think they should have done this for WWE 13. Quote
the King Lives Posted March 22, 2014 Posted March 22, 2014 yeah that should have been done for 13 or even 12 when they rebooted the series but oh well Quote
Guest Dazman™ Posted March 22, 2014 Posted March 22, 2014 If I'm honest I think WWE 2K14 was a step down from WWE 13 and quite a big one at that. I'm not sure if that's because I'm a huge fan of the Attitude Era or not but I just don't seem to have as much fun with the game this year so no I am going to have to say it doesn't really live up to my standards. I don't feel as though 30 Years Of WrestleMania mode was as in-depth as the Attitude Era mode, some matches were fun to play and relive but some of the big matches (Hogan/Rock and Cena/Rock) only required you to hit a finisher and pin your opponent and it didn't really feel as though you were reliving history, it seemed more like a regular match if anything. The Attitude mode had more cutscenes and more objectives for you to complete in the big PPV matches. Not to mention it only took me 2 days to finish 30 YOWM and that was supposed to take 12 months, there was just nothing to it. As for the roster I was obviously very happy to have Kaitlyn in WWE 2K14 but with all the duplicates and multiple attires certain superstars have that can easily be made in Superstar threads and Superstar heads, the roster seems like somewhat of a disappointment and has nothing on the one in WWE 13. I mean I don't think I'll ever use Bundy, Studd, Yokozuna, Andre or Steamboat outside of the game mode whereas I used the entire Attitude roster at least once but I put that down to preference. It was a very good roster overall but I preferred the one in WWE 13. I feel the A.I and general gameplay is pretty much the same although they do seem to reverse a lot more this year which is a good thing but when the A.I is using a high flyer they'll never attempt a rope dive or high risk attack. You'll also be thrown back into the ring right away in a match that doesn't even have countouts on. I think the fighting styles from SvR 2008 are needed again. I rarely play online so I don't have much of a judgment on that. Overall though for me, it's advantage WWE 13. Quote
twiggadoodledoo Posted March 22, 2014 Author Posted March 22, 2014 (edited) Amen, Dazman! You've said it, and you've said it well.. About the roster, I feel the same. The Attitude Era roster I used over and over again but with the 30YOM I just had little to nonexistent use out of the majority of the guys. I wish the Attitude Era was extended and we had every guy in-game from '97 to '01 that would be sweet. Edited March 22, 2014 by twiggadoodledoo Quote
the King Lives Posted March 23, 2014 Posted March 23, 2014 @Dazzman is that because they messed up Kaitlyn's model? or (who am I kidding? I know that's the reason LOL) j/k but I still like 14 but it's just the fact that they should have catered more towards universe.. then again that's my problem with titanfall it from what I've heard had no story mode and was solely multiplayer. multiplayer is great and all but I guess i'm old fashioned and I really enjoy universe mode (minus all the glitches of course.) off topic, I just got 2k14 back via digital download and surprisingly I haven't run into a single freeze.. don't know if it's because it's a digital copy or what but it seems much smoother than how it felt on the disc 2 months ago Quote
The 4th Doctor Posted March 23, 2014 Posted March 23, 2014 (edited) I just wish they had added a few more 80's 90's guys like Honky Tonk Man Jimmy Snuka Brutus Beefcake Greg The Hammer Valentine Lex Luger British Bulldog Psycho Sid/Sid Vicious Demolition and the Road Warriors Jim Niedhart Haku Harley Race Tito Santana Koko B Ware Junkyard Dog Jimmy Hart as a Manager. iamthedoctor Posted March 23, 2014 Posted March 23, 2014 It was an arcade type game so the over blown models looked great to me, very had a very cartoonish feel which does actually look right if you go back to the golden era with its cartoon gimmicks, hell look at the Hasbro line and you can probably see where they pulled the idea from. If the game was'nt so rushed then it may have had a better reception to fans. It looked rushed. If I play a wrestling game I dont want blown out models I want them how they appeared on TV. Especially a Legends game because it just looks pants compared to the Smackdown series. Quote
