2k14 vs '13

I enjoyed 13 due to the Attitude era theme, however 2K14 pulls me as I really enjoyed the Golden era roster...now If only 2k can bring the two of those eras together in one game....

 

But for the most part I would say WWE13 is my game of choice.

 

The problem with mania mode was far too much focus on modern day wrestlers. Would have been better if it concentrated on just the Golden Era and really needed some sort of off script matches too. Yes we didnt have Raw/Smackdown back then but that wouldnt stop them doing matches from Saturday Nights Main Event or The Main Event or Superstars of Wrestling.

Well really they should have been doing not just wrestlemania matches but Summerslams too and Rumbles. I didnt mind the Hogan matches but we really needed at least 3 matches per wrestlemania.

 

Honky vs Beefcake at mania 4 should have been in same for Warrior/Rude Mania 5.

 

Had they combined this with off script matches of say the lesser shows like Superstars or SNME that builded towards the big matches think it could have been good.

I was ok with the first 10 or so but they should have done other PPV arenas.

I agree, I think because of the whole going for the nostalgia affect, they could have at least added in some old RAW and Superstar arenas, even just the parts to make it in CAA

This is why I bought a JTAG, so I could import everything I liked about WWE 13 over to 2K14, and have the best of both worlds in one game

I did love 13 because I'm an AE fan. but that 2 count bug drove me INSANE. 14 for me. 100 caws was definitely an improvement.

For 30 years of WM I seriously think they should have done the 25 diva battle royal from WM25, but use cutscenes to eliminate most people so the ring isnt cramped (it would also be an excuse to add more divas to the game)

I wish they had just stuck to a golden era instead of 30 years. You cant do 30 years in 1 game not unless your updating the roster every couple months. As WWE games are yearly it would have been better to just concentrate on the 80s.

 

Attitude era fans got their game in WWE 13 but us Golden fans have to take a backseat. Before anyone says All Stars/LOWM they were just shit games that had nothing to do with the main series.

To be honest I still enjoy playing LOWM and have also modded the gamer to include a Saturday Nights Main Event arena and Monday NIght Raw arena. It makes the game that little bit more interesting

True but I like the arcade feel to it, the game was never really supposed to be the sim that the Smackdown\WWE games are. The game actaully reflects against the Golden era quite well with its cartoonish look and feel. I still play this game alot and twith modding it can be pushed alot further.

I didnt like how the models were over blown. These days arcady feels tends to be abit OTT as back then Arcade controls were button mashers like wrestlefest. Just a shame THQ didnt listen to what the fans wanted we all craved for a sim based wrestling game and we never get it. If its the same game as the series except models, arenas & storymodes differ who cares as long as it sells well.

 

Hackers have done it for years with jtagged systems and those vids prove very popular.

It was an arcade type game so the over blown models looked great to me, very had a very cartoonish feel which does actually look right if you go back to the golden era with its cartoon gimmicks, hell look at the Hasbro line and you can probably see where they pulled the idea from.

 

If the game was'nt so rushed then it may have had a better reception to fans.

I think it depends really. I really enjoyed the Attitude era and also the 30 years of WM modes, but didn't find any motivation to play through them more than once. But because I'm a big AE fan as opposed to the other era's, I enjoyed 13 more as its always great to play as the Acolytes and destroy any other tag team around !

So, after long thinking, I put it down to WWE '13 over 2k14.

Mind you I had to change a couple of them as some ingame stars remained.

I never shortened my videos. My custom stone cold one clocked a good 3 and a half minutes alough filesize was pretty big but others I just kept to a good minute. Unless its a vid that the entrance is on the tron the whole time like taker, jericho.

For me it's 2K14 because of numerous of reasons. I love the fact they gave us a 100 caw slots and I sure put them to use that I couldn't do in previous series and also it had more gameplay modes, more creative content and a pretty large roster. However I had no problem with WWE 13 and it was my favorite themed game based off a era I grew up in, so, it was a great game in itself. Now since that was said i'm going to go play some Smackdown 1 on my Playstation.
