Titavius Posted March 7, 2014 Posted March 7, 2014 I remember back when people were modding SmackDown vs RAW 2011, people were able to import various Arenas from the past over the in-game ones. I think there's a video on youtube of the SmackDown fist Arena that was imported into the game. What I was wondering, is would be it be possible to take the Fist or the Raw 2002 stage structures from CAA, and import them into one of the current in-game Raw or SmackDown arenas? Basically, swapping the stages. Is this a job for X-Rey? Quote
OverTheEdge Posted March 7, 2014 Posted March 7, 2014 Nah, that wouldn't involve X-Rey. Regardless of whether or not you modify the part, you'd still have to find a way to get it in there. Quote
UndertakerWLF Posted March 7, 2014 Posted March 7, 2014 As it happens I am researching this at the moment, so far I have has no luck though. I know it can be done between svr07 and svr2011 though... I tried importing the WCW logo from the Nitro dlc into the current Raw arena and it froze the game. I will be trying again tonight and try import somwthign from WWE12 into WWE13/14. Quote

You could have a RAW '99 Arena with the entrance video displayed where it should be Quote
OverTheEdge Posted March 7, 2014 Posted March 7, 2014 I highly doubt it would work (the parts from CAA into normal arenas), as it's the same thing with CAW parts and actual models. For whatever reason, they're just not compatible. And, UTWLF, I tried importing part of a '12 arena into a '13 one last year (pretty sure it was the giant 'WRESTLEMANIA' part from the XXVII arena) and I had the game freeze on me as well. Definitely wouldn't hurt to do more testing, but hearing that someone else had the same results doesn't leave me too hopeful. Quote
UndertakerWLF Posted March 7, 2014 Posted March 7, 2014 You can't import CAA over the main arenas for several reasons. 1. Different model format 2. Arenas are a little more complex as the mat and ropes are stored elsewhere @Overtheedge I have a few more things to try out. I've not given up Quote
Mathayus Posted March 8, 2014 Posted March 8, 2014 Maybe you can import some parts from an arena over another. I saw how Tich replaced the ramp barricades last year. And you´ll be able to open the yobj files and edit it in 3ds max or zbrush too. But the arenas have more than 100 files, the mostly of it are model files. Other thing is find what file controls the titantrons and all that things to not get all that vids screwed up in the arenas. Quote
UndertakerWLF Posted March 8, 2014 Posted March 8, 2014 If you import all the arena models you can see which arena part is what by looking at the model number in 3DS Max which then you can find the model in the pac in xpacker. I was messing about moving some of the models about last night. Quote
iconbadgta Posted March 8, 2014 Posted March 8, 2014 Sounds like a hex coding job for red rooster! Yobj files are yobj files, you would think if older arena were completely intact from the previous game they would be the same or only minor differences as compared to the new 2k14 ones... Hex coding I think would be key to get them to work and display correctly, I would about lay money on it. I tell you what would be freaking awesome is if you could add parts of arenas to the create a arena feature.. Like the big WCW logos from the nitro set, or the truss setup from nitro as individual pieces onto a picked arena that you are editing in create a arena, I don't see why that wouldn't work as you are fixing it as separate pieces you can add or that is available? I don't know, maybe soon they will finally breakdown at 2k and talk WWE into making a Monday Night Wars game that's based strictly from the 96-01 era and allows wrestlers to be traded and moved to various brands etc. And have like 10 different outfits per wrestler and allow fans to pick 5 by the way of polls on the net! Who would think it! WWE actually listening to the fans? That would be the day! Until then we are stuck trying to rack our brains on this stuff... I hope you guys figure it out, glad we got guys like yourself on it! Keep up the good work and don't let it get ya down! You will get it fellas I got faith in you! Quote
UndertakerWLF Posted March 9, 2014 Posted March 9, 2014 I have tried to import an object from SVR2011 into WWE2K14 and the game freezes...however I can change the position of the structures and also change there shape, by using 3ds max and then exporting and injecting using Tekkens x-rey Quote
Titavius Posted March 9, 2014 Author Posted March 9, 2014 i guess if you can change the shape of the structures, you could create any logo/object you wanted. especially if you can relocate them too. and if you have the patience! Quote
Mathayus Posted March 9, 2014 Posted March 9, 2014 I openned a full arena and get out the ramp and move the stage to create a no ramp arena. didn´t tried it in game yet, but if you can inject the objects back with X-Rey, it must work. Quote
UndertakerWLF Posted March 9, 2014 Posted March 9, 2014 i guess if you can change the shape of the structures, you could create any logo/object you wanted. especially if you can relocate them too. and if you have the patience! Not all objects have the same number of vertices, and you must keep within the same number of vertices for anything to work, so you may not be able to create anything extravagant. And Math, good luck. Let me know what the results are. Quote
Mathayus Posted March 10, 2014 Posted March 10, 2014 Next week I´ll try to replace the barricades in the WCW Nitro arena to see if it can be make breakable. Quote
iconbadgta Posted March 10, 2014 Posted March 10, 2014 While your at it you need to inject all the nitro arena textures I made for it! Go big or go home is what I say! Should be nice once you get the barricades fixed and turnbuckles turned straight. Especially with the new textures I made for it. Just wonder if the lighting can ever be changed on entrances to reflect each wrestler? Like Bret had pink and white lights with stobes on his nitro entrance, Wonder if the nitro arena could ever be tweaked to reflect each characters entrance themes? Gold or yellow and purple for Ric Flair.. etc etc Quote

Just repacing it for the raw arena and see what happens. About the lights, I think you can change the lights color reflected over the crowd, but the lights you are talking are not part of the arenas, are part of the entrance file and you can´t. Quote
