UndertakerWLF Posted March 4, 2014 Posted March 4, 2014 (edited) You hav'nt left a disc ni the dvd tray have you? and maybe it's trying to boot to the disc? remove anything from you USB ports that should not be there (flash drives etc..) Have you checked the boot order in the bios? If all of those fail, unplug the machine from the power socket, remove the cmos battery and then hold the power button down for about 20-30 seconds do that it drains all of the power from the capacitors from the motherboard, Once replace the battery and plug in the power again. Boot your machine and you should get a cmos error appear, go into your Bios and set your motherboard back to default and restart the machine. If this doesnt work don't try and re-install windows just yet, remove the drive and hook it up to another machine as an external drive and try and recover the content. Red Rooster Posted March 6, 2014 Posted March 6, 2014 (edited) You need to take the hard drive out and connect it to a working computer, see if the data is still there and copy it off to the working computer. Then try a repair install of windows by reinstalling Windows over the top of itself or boot off the Windows cd and choose "Repair my computer" from the 2nd screen that comes up (Vista/7 or 8 only). Failing that, do a fresh install of Windows and move your data back. Edited March 6, 2014 by Red Rooster Quote
