3DS Question, detach an object

Recommended Posts

I was using the detach function to separate some parts of the hair, but then, the vertices number changes. I was wondering if we can use it to separate a part and the rejoin it without loosing the vertices.

The other way is very tedious.

I realize that sometime it happen when you attach certain element , i fix my problem making test but it took me 2 days.

Example , i had the whole body attach and even if i didnt make any editing when i detach i end up with more vertices, so i attach only the upper body and it fix my problem.

So try to attach the minimum of element or find the one causing the problem

What i want to do is split that parts and hide into the head to make the 2001-2002 hair. I don´t think I can do that.

Why cant you do it , and what part are you talking about?

The hair. separating the vertices in the hair to get rid the down part. Hide it into the head and let him with the short hair. Then extract the object separate int  two elements with the same vertices.

But when i do this, the number of vertices increases.

Do you attach before and when you detach you get the unwanted vertices or you dont attach at all.

How many element are in booker's hair

I don´t attach. I supossed that attached to detach later don´t do notihng. but i didn´t try.

In Booker´s hair are 5 objects.

One example, the file 2710_0 have 2695 vertices, when I use detach to separate in two elements the object then have like 100 vertices more.
