nsieniski Posted January 25, 2014 Posted January 25, 2014 (edited) - The best way to uncompress BG files - How many mipmaps for the dds (all I tried failed, even using my hex editor to figure them out) For the ring mat for example. For now, I can inject the CH pac back in the BG PAC file (opened with containing directories), but when I update the arc files (update arc non wrestlers), Xpacker gives me a blank window instead of a confirmation message. The game dosen't load the arena....... Some people have already modded arenas with succes and talent, please give me some advices Edited January 26, 2014 by nsieniski Quote

Red Rooster Posted January 25, 2014 Posted January 25, 2014 I found that the edited textures were always smaller than the original so I open the file in a hex editor and add 00's at the end of the file to make it exactly the same size as the original. Quote
nsieniski Posted January 25, 2014 Author Posted January 25, 2014 (edited) Thank but I know the video and It doesn't really help. I found that the edited textures were always smaller than the original so I open the file in a hex editor and add 00's at the end of the file to make it exactly the same size as the original. Good to know! Thanks a lot Red Rooster, works well Edited January 26, 2014 by nsieniski Quote

Cos' it worked with an arena I modded before getting a new laptop..... Edited January 26, 2014 by nsieniski Quote

Cos' it worked with an arena I modded before getting a new laptop..... I always update the size in the arc file for my modded arenas manually using a hex editor (you dont have to change the offset because there is only ever one file in the pac). I have the same problem as you when trying to get XPacker to do it, I get a blank box with no text in it and the arc file is incorrect. Edited January 26, 2014 by Red Rooster 1 Quote
nsieniski Posted January 26, 2014 Author Posted January 26, 2014 (edited) Ok, that sounds a good idea... so one last stupid question.. How do I update manually? I did that a few times but a long time ago.... I know where to update in the arc file but how do get the new size/offset of the updated BG file? At the end of the BG file in the Hex editor? the original BG pac file gives me the 007b48fb but in the arc file it shows just 7bfb..... By the way, it's your great job on the WCW saturday night that made me look into arena modding bro Edited January 26, 2014 by nsieniski Quote
Red Rooster Posted January 26, 2014 Posted January 26, 2014 You get the size by checking the file properties of the pach in Windows ("Size" not "Size on disk") and then convert the amount of bytes into hex using a calculator that can do hex and decimal. Have a look at the screenshots that I posted in my thread with my Modded arenas. Quote
nsieniski Posted January 26, 2014 Author Posted January 26, 2014 I was looking at your modded arena thread. Can you give me an example. Your WCW arena is 7,550,780 bytes In my hex calculator it gives me 73373c (the same I can see at the end of the BG file in my hex editor too), so far so good but then you updated AAD0. Sorry, I'm more of an artist than a tech guy... Quote
Red Rooster Posted January 26, 2014 Posted January 26, 2014 You need the size of the pach file not the pac file, the size of my 0040.pach file is 11,194,368 which converted to Hex is AAD000 i guess you dont need the last two 00s or your divide that by 100 but the amount you put in the arc is AAD0. When you manually copy the pach file into the pac file you should also change the size near the top of the pac file too, if you have done it right when you open the pac file in XPacker the size will be correct. Sorry Im probably not explaining that very well but hopefully you understand what I mean. Quote
nsieniski Posted January 26, 2014 Author Posted January 26, 2014 (edited) Thank you so much for your time Red Rooster.. I just imported back WM12 arena uncompressed, updating manually the arc file like you told me and it worked perfectly so I guess your explanations are pretty good bro Do you think it's possible to import a whole WWE13 pac arena in WWE2k14 (not injecting a WWE13 ch pac in a WWE2k14 PAC), and update manually? Would it work? The thing is I love the old barricades but I hate WWe2k14 arena noise effect. Edited January 26, 2014 by nsieniski Quote
Red Rooster Posted January 26, 2014 Posted January 26, 2014 Im pretty sure you can just import a WWE13 pac Quote
nsieniski Posted January 26, 2014 Author Posted January 26, 2014 (edited) It works, just imported WWE13 summerslam97 BG pac, just manually updating the arc file Edited January 27, 2014 by nsieniski 1 Quote
