Connor MacLeod Posted January 24, 2014 Posted January 24, 2014 I'm working on my next mod and was wondering where to get rid of these stupid arn tassles? I ltried the normal and can't seem to pin down the exact location, 1 Quote
UndertakerWLF Posted January 24, 2014 Posted January 24, 2014 have you tried messing with the alpha layer rather than the normal layer? Quote
Red Rooster Posted January 24, 2014 Posted January 24, 2014 (edited) Yeah try making the tassles completely black in the alpha channel of the normal Edited January 24, 2014 by Red Rooster Quote
Connor MacLeod Posted January 24, 2014 Author Posted January 24, 2014 I tried where I thought the tassles where in the alpha but no luck. @IamCrazyPT Yep, you're right. Quote
coroner Posted January 24, 2014 Posted January 24, 2014 (edited) I used an old technique with PS2 mods when I couldn't figure out the exact location of something, use a detailed color test pattern over the texture and test. Edited January 24, 2014 by coroner Quote
UndertakerWLF Posted January 24, 2014 Posted January 24, 2014 I used an old technique with PS2 mods when I couldn't figure out the exact location of something, use a detailed color test pattern over the texture and test. Same here, except I use a bright green colour to paint on the texture so I can see it in game better Quote
Connor MacLeod Posted January 24, 2014 Author Posted January 24, 2014 I hope I don't sound like a idiot, but you mean make the whole texture one color like blue or something? Quote
coroner Posted January 24, 2014 Posted January 24, 2014 No, more like a color chart, I used to have one with thousands of tiny different colored squares, and just pasted it over the area of the texture I had a problem with, so when I tested it, I could see exactly where the texture lined up on the model, based on where the color was. Quote
Connor MacLeod Posted January 24, 2014 Author Posted January 24, 2014 Ok. I tried the color thing and managed to turn them blue in game, so I went to the alpha channel in the normal and turned it completely black (Which wasn't to hard cause it was pretty much solid black anyway. I then put everything back together and the tassles were still blue so I tried the color.dds I had not edited and the tassles are still there. So either I did it wrong or do you think they can't be removed? I have made things on mods invisible/transparent before, so I have no clue what the problem might be. Quote
coroner Posted January 24, 2014 Posted January 24, 2014 I would think the tassels could be removed similar to the way hair is in the alpha. I know you've done it before, but are you saving the normal DXT5 ARGB 8Bpp Interpolated Alpha? Quote
OverTheEdge Posted January 24, 2014 Posted January 24, 2014 I haven't actually checked, but given everything you've tried and that's been said, I'm pretty sure they're part of the base model and not an additional .yobj like the hair or eyelashes are, so they can't be removed. Quote
Connor MacLeod Posted January 24, 2014 Author Posted January 24, 2014 @Coroner yep. I am. @OTE That's what I was thinking, If one of you guys want to look at it, I will send it your way. Quote
UndertakerWLF Posted January 24, 2014 Posted January 24, 2014 Send it my way and I will take a look Quote
Connor MacLeod Posted January 24, 2014 Author Posted January 24, 2014 All right, thanks man. I will send you the whole pac edited except for what I did for the mod itself. Quote
Mathayus Posted January 25, 2014 Posted January 25, 2014 I haven't actually checked, but given everything you've tried and that's been said, I'm pretty sure they're part of the base model and not an additional .yobj like the hair or eyelashes are, so they can't be removed. I think that the tassels are the same as Kevin Nash pants tassels. It is a part of the whole model, but you can erase it in the alpha channel painting in black. I think I did that once. Quote
