So I'm gonna start making avatars soon, mainly for personal use but if I'm happy with them then I may go public. But can anyone give me any tips? I think I've nailed the sizing but I could still do with some tips, and the main thing I need help with is effects/filters. Can any of you guys give me tips on it? I've already messaged Beardy for help, but I'd love it if professionals like Clique and etc could help me out. Thanks in advance! :D

For effects and filters I recommend using PSD's - you can find them on Deviantart or on small hipster websites. Look at a tutorial on how you apply PSD's to photos on Photoshop. PM me if you ever need any help.  ;)
