[PS3] how to inject textures into painttool WITHOUT Jailbreak

All my .dds files are through paint.net, it's not that, I've uploaded loads of them.

Ps Hi, stalking over here from WLF now. :)

I just tried this out tonight, worked perfectly! :)

Hi guys, amateur question time. I've followed all the steps and now I'm at the stage where I restore to the PS3. How do I go about doing that? Is it as simple as just copying from the usb stick?

Posted

Yep. Just put the logos.dat back onto the usb stick in the save folder.

Posted

Does it need to be in a specific folder Judders? I tried going into the Save Game Data and then searching my USB but it didn't recognize any files. Sorry for what are probably stupid questions, I've never managed to do something like this before

The save folder is BLES01937_SAVE I think. I'm assuming of course you have an unlocked PS3 save?

Posted

Ah nope didn't see that step. I'll have a look for a tutorial thanks man

ok ive copied a save file, followed the instructions and am now ready to put it back on the PS3, do I copy the save file across into the back-up user account or my main one?

Brilliant, thank Kim & Judders. Got the logos on, can I just say a MASSIVE thank you to you both and everyone who made these brilliant tools. :)

I get this error "This picture is too big, please make sure you applied the right settings when saving: .DDS file (ARGB 8.8.8.8. or A8R8G8B8)."

The DDS files I created with PS is 256x256. Not sure why this is happening, but I'm getting a little frustrated

The version of the DDS exporting plugin I'm using is NVIDIA dds Format (v8.55.0109.1800).

Not sure if there's another version out there, because I don't see the A8B8G8R8 format option. I only see the ARGB 8.8.8.8.

If there's another I should use, please link it in this thread, thanks!

EDIT: nvm got past that part!

"11. Save the File as "LOGOS.DAT" (everything uppercase) and restore it to your PS3 connect to CC and download one Logo and save it in one of the empty slots."

So if I don't go into CC, and download a logo, my custom texture will not appear? Seems the online for this game is down ATM. So I can't even test it out...

EDIT 2: After following this TUT

I get this error message when trying to go into CC. "You are unable to enter Community Creations because your save data was created by another user."

Anyway around this?

Your SaveGame is not correctly resigned. Did you rename the "PARAM.SFO" to "template.sfo" and did you replace the placeholder file in your "Save Game Tools" Directory?

Take again a look at

Oh yes... that was the problem. Forgot to overwrite the first template. Thanks!

Alright, well I was able to do everything, but after I uploaded the image to CC, and then downloaded it to my main account, the image doesn't load.

The thumbnail/preview of it showed fine in CC, but once I try to use it in CAW, I just get an empty box.

Create a new logo from scratch in the game. While you're creating the logo, import your texture into the blank PT slot.

Does this happen to work with Xbox 360 as well?

Are you joking?

K.G.'s tool is made for 360, this tutorial describes howto use it on PS3.

Just tried this method hoping it would work but unfortunately I get empty logo slots when I load up and download from the CC, strangely enough the same happens with my Main/Old Account's PT files too.

Any ideas to why it is working for some and not others?

What do you mean with empty? Do you have 5 transparent 256x256 Logos or is everything completely empty?

Ok, redownload the archive and try it with an empty logos.dat (left the part with kg's tool out) You should see 5 transparent 256X256 logos in the Game. If that is the case then something with your .dds files is wrong.

Some People including me had problems with .dds files created in paint.net but for others paint.net works fine. Photoshop seems to work for everyone, try it with photoshop if possible (may ask someone who has photoshop).
