Connor MacLeod Posted December 27, 2013 Posted December 27, 2013 I replaced X-Pac with Yoshi Tatsu and I got it to work perfectly except for one thing, the name still says X-Pac no matter what I do. The strings have been changed as the tutorial says and still won't change it, I even have had someone help me after it wouldn't work for me & it is driving us both nuts. Quote
OverTheEdge Posted December 27, 2013 Posted December 27, 2013 You can only replace names with names of an equal or lesser number of characters, meaning you could change 'Undertaker' to 'CM Punk' but not 'CM Punk' to 'Undertaker'. Quote
Connor MacLeod Posted December 27, 2013 Author Posted December 27, 2013 (edited) Well I honestly did not know that, now I feel like an idiot. I will try that in a few minutes, thank you OTE for the info. Edit: I do update the catalog_hd.arc after for non wrestler right? Edited December 27, 2013 by Connor MacLeod Quote
Red Rooster Posted December 27, 2013 Posted December 27, 2013 I never updated catalog_hd.arc, just make sure the string.pac you are editing is in the latest dlc eg. Fandango, Big E dlc otherwise the changes wont appear. Quote
Connor MacLeod Posted December 28, 2013 Author Posted December 28, 2013 Yeah I have been using DLC 4, I just can't seem to get them to show up. Quote
Red Rooster Posted December 28, 2013 Posted December 28, 2013 Open the Wrestler info for XPac/Yoshi in Xpacker and change the name location to a different String. Then edit the string at the new location. Maybe the string for XPac is not long enough to change to Yoshi Tatsu Quote
Connor MacLeod Posted December 28, 2013 Author Posted December 28, 2013 I changed the string locations for the 3 guys I added to 3 new ones in this section. "Unlockable Text" And I doubled checked the names were right but yet the names still come out as the names below. Yoshi Tatsu replacing X-Pac = Now named "WrestleMania Arena" Jimmy Uso replacing Cactus Jack = Now named "WrestleMania Arena" Jey Uso replacing Dude Love = Now Named "WrestleMania Arena" It's real frustrating because I am out of ideas & I have tried for almost 2 weeks now to figure this out. . Red Rooster Posted December 28, 2013 Posted December 28, 2013 Obviously for some reason your game is reading the string.pac from another dlc, try injecting your string.pac into the other dlc files one at a time and test it until you find the right one. Quote
El Guapo Posted December 28, 2013 Posted December 28, 2013 (edited) I had this problem - for some reason Le Fluffie has trouble injecting a file into a DLC package for a 2nd time (I'm assuming that you already injected the String file once to enable the community DLC in the first place). You need to get a fresh copy of the original DLC file and inject your newly modified string file into it. Edited December 28, 2013 by Evil Jeff Quote
Connor MacLeod Posted December 28, 2013 Author Posted December 28, 2013 Well I fixed it and after the past 2 weeks I found out what was causing the majority of my problem. I have two copies of the dlc on my RGH one backup set on the internal hdd & one set on my external where my save was, I never realized till tonight it has been reading the dlc on the internal drive every time I went to play the game not the external as I thought it was. So I took off the backup copies of the dlc from the internal hdd, redid the dlc 4 string pac with a fresh dlc 4 one more time and it worked perfect, I was happy it worked finally, but mad at the same time it was something so simple I overlooked. btw when the next official dlc comes out, can't I rename my dlc 4 string file to string_dlc05 & inject it & it work? Thanks for all your help, sorry if I was a pain in the ass Red lol Quote
Red Rooster Posted December 28, 2013 Posted December 28, 2013 Glad you got it sorted in the end Quote
