best in the world Posted December 24, 2013 Share Posted December 24, 2013 i have those days where i just don't feel like playing it, and end up playing an older game (Cough Resident Evil's 1-5) but for the most part i still love it plus it's getting more value out of me than wwe13 did That's pretty much how I end up too. I like playing WWE2k14 but it gets very frustrating with all the freezing and glitch issues that are all over the place. BTW, I thought I was the only split Resident Evil/WWE fan here, nice! i've been a RE fan since the very first one (with the exception of 6 and those first person shooter attempts LOL) but yeah RE 1-5 and Code Veronica X and Even Zero, They definitely are my favorites LOL You think you are an avid RE fan? I even tried RE: Dead Aim! That game sucked. I also tried Operation Raccoon City and it also sucked. I liked what Capcom did with RE 6 although it didn't come close to RE 4 & 5. My best friend and i actually took RE 1-3 and recorded it (basically we started with jill, cut to chris arriving from the porch area (the area with the dogs) and used chris' ending since wesker was presumed dead by the time RE2 rolled around. then we recorded the first half of RE 3 (where jill is trying to escape since brad gets attacked, the precinct is boarded up, by the time she gets to the other side of the city with carlos, we split to re2 with leon and claire, did the whole william boss fight, then cut back to jill escaping, had the b scenario ending with the train exploding etc showed that ending then cut to the re3 ending where the entire city was bombed. then we went and did CVX. That was pretty much where we stopped but the way we did it came out pretty good. It had a decent story, although most of the more popular faces weren't even in it. Everything else aside from the story and video packages sucked from the aiming/shooting system to the awkward menu and even the background music. You name it, it sucked. More of the same thing with ORC except it was PS3 instead of PS2[although I got it for Xbox 360]. Resident Evil 6 was great with story but had a lot of issues especially the lighting being off[made it difficult to see enemies to shoot] and the clumsy menu setup. I liked that RE 6 was a mix of the old school zombies with the infected from 4 & 5. Capcom should have kept the setup of RE 6 the same as 4 and 5 and they would have been golden. But, they changed it and not for the better. I absolutely hated how the chapters of the story were long and tedious with no save points. I also liked how RE 6 had Sherry Birkin[was she from RE 2 or RE 3? Anyway good throwback!] in the story and made her a big part of Jake's path. Resident Evil can always come back because there are always more story options to be explored or new angles to bring in, which makes it fun to watch. I especially liked how Resident Evil 6 was more throwback zombies only via terrorist attack with bio weapons, which is realistic this day and age with terrorist stuff going on all the time in the news. Resident Evil, Final Fanstasy, or Friday the 13th, doesn't matter they can call it "final" but there will always be hardcore fans of the series who want more and companies will always capitalize on that and churn out more! Which is cool if it is done right, but not so great if they bastardize the whole series just to make money. BTW, Merry Christmas everyone! There is a wealth of content in WWE2k14, but the problem is in all the glitches. Want to edit your CAWs? Freeze. Want to set rivalries up for Universe? Freeze. Or anything in general you want to edit in Universe? Freeze. It's a great game, but all the glitch issues take what is a great game and make it a whole lot less fun. I do agree on one point though: these games have been the same for entirely too long. Ever since the original SmackDown on Playstation, it has mainly just had updates and tweaks with a few cool additions along the way. If it is possible for 2K to make an engine change or overhaul within the release window, I'd like to see what they are capable of doing without THQ's old stuff...... It has been so long since I have played the older games that I couldn't remember if Sherry was from RE 2 or RE 3. Both games were fun though. The problem with RE 6 for me was that they changed the setup just as it was getting good. The gameplay setup, the menus, and even the chapter lengths were perfect in 4 and 5 but they changed it and made it clustered in 6. I hated the dark environments in 6 like I said before. I get the whole 'survival horror' darkness thing but they made some environments so dark that you couldn't see enemies or go forward until you found the correct path. Which is frustrating if you get stuck and don't know which was is the correct path to move forward. Also, they took out the puzzles that made Resident Evils 1-5 famous. I enjoyed those older games because of the puzzles, especially the remake of the original that was on Gamecube. I'd like to see Capcom make Resident Evil 7 and try to put those puzzles back into the series and return to the older gameplay setup of 4 and 5.......
