Hi everyone! My name is adam and for lack of a better term, i am completely lost!

 

I have been reading on mods and stuff and i just can't seem to wrap my mind around the terms and how to's..

 

First off, i have a new elite 4gb xbox just bought the other day.. (THE 99$ WALMART ONE)

 

I don't know what a jtag or rhb deal is, and i don't know where to look for a modding for dummies f.a.q....

 

Basicially i am a artist, heres mydeviantart site. (http://iconbadgta.deviantart.com/) I do logo's etc and am about to upload some rare wwf logo's like the wwf tv logo that was used in the mid 90's, most noticed on the wm10 and replica belt carrying bags....

 

Fellas, and ladies, i am lost here, i seriously want to apply my talents somehow to the community because i believe i could be a awsome asset to the community with my artistic skills. If you notice my hart foundation logo is the same they used in wwe2k14 because they got it from my photobucket account. I was shocked to see it to be honest but i was flattered they used it.

 

Anyway, any assitance or point in the right direction is greatly appreciated and i am thankful for any and all responces.

I don't so much want to change wrestlers minus outfits and maybe create new arenas etc, not so much into actual wrestler or character changes more astechics etc.

A JTAG or RGH xbox is a modified console able to read modified files. It requires an actual hardware modification of the console so you can either pay someone to do it for you or try your hand at soldering.

I had my Xbox RGHed last year and it was the best $80 I ever spent. Only downside is you can never go on Xbox Live again (I never did anyway).

If you are not worried about xbox live then get your console modded, you wont regret it.

Damn True!. I RGHed it a couple months ago and my console got back to life. I was focus on pc but with RGH i´ve been able to download a lot of content (games, xbla, emulators, mods, DLC). Go ahead  and as Red says, "you won´t regret it"

Something I cant figure out is how come to get arenas and wwe13 wrestlers I have to have a modded xbox but thq could literally release a set as dlc and they would work fine?

Granted they are the makers of this game but there are plenty of people here smart enough to do mods I wonder why these guys havent figured out a way to make them downloadable via a dlc or add on that would work via a usb drive for storage of the character and file in conjunction with the code being done via a saved game editor?

Would this be possible?

Also is it possible to edit a saved game to make custom areaas by utilizing arena and prop features already in the 2k14 game and editing the save game info to tell the game to make whichever pieces from the allready available arenas available to make one custom arena by utilizing parts from all of them?

Im just trying to think from a non modded box so fans with unmodable or retail boxes can have stuff also.

No way. Microsoft never lets to do it. Vince McMahon Never lets to do it.

 

Making it dowloable for everyone: Impossible. 1-you´ll need to get access to the servers. 2- You´ll need to work with the microsoft code, what is an illegal thing. 3- If you mod your console and you try to get access to Live, mod sometihg or whatver you´ll be banned from Live.

 

To inject modded arenas you´ll need to inject it into the game, not in the savedata. You can´t mod a game only editing the savedata, you´ll need to edit the game files into the ISO.

 

Mod without hacks = No mods.

 

It´s like you want to play Assassins Creed with the GTA disc.

So I understand you correctly.... It is impossible to make custom dlc like 2k sports because we dont have microsoft code?

Only code we do have that works is only usable with hacks?

It´s possible, but you are saying about releasing it like official DLC´s. you can get the code to create official DLC´s like microsoft does. It´s in internet, but is illegal.

And any company will allows you to share any kind of content.

 

The Microsoft code is in internet. And the tool that microsoft uses to create the official DLC´s for 360 is called Xlast. But don´t think it will works for retails.

So is there anyone that has came up or made a free save game editor that has a tool for putting in logo's yet?

 

I know kgj or whatever his name is has one but i can't get up with him...

 

Free is always better! I just want to do some logos mainly for my game. 

 

Anyone that hears anything let me know..

About the PT´s.

It´s isn´t in the save editor, it is in his own file. Save editor have nothing to do with it.

Each year we got free tools to add PT´s in retails.

I know about KG tool, I never would pay work a tool like that, but I haven´t problems that he try to earn some money with his work. Nobody is forced to pay it.

 

But maybe someone will release a tool that works in retail and it´s free.

You can't create signed dlc which would work with retail consoles, only MS can sign dlc. Hence you have to jtag. Actually modding wrestlers and arenas requires you to change files in the game itself, on retail you would need to create a new disc signed by MS which is impossible.

Yeah man it looks like I gots to bite the bullet it seems and buy me a jtag xbox.

I was looking on ebay and I seen some that had the jtag plus extra cooling fans etc to prevent the famed overheat red ring issues of yore...

Plus it seemed every single one of them had the option of extended warranty through paypal so I can get covered for 2 years if something happend to one.

I just wish kg would get up with me, I sent him a pm for payment on paypal and havent heard from him..

Btw, what format does images need to be for direct injection? I want to go ahead and offer the logos I got to anyone who wants them for personal use on my deviant art account and id like to make them good and clean so I was needing to know what format they need to be in..

DDS. but better make the logos in PNG, so it have the transparency and it can be used in different ways.

So the game accepts png? What is dds? I dont think I ever heard of that type format.....

No, the game only works with DDS. But if you make a logo and I want to add it to a wrestler texture or if i want to use it in an arena mod I´ll need it in png better casue is easier to work with it.

In DDS you get the transparency, but if you ant to re-use it, it loose the transparency.

I want to do texture mods and stuff because i am soon sending my eslim to get rgh'd..

 

Well anyway i need a basic on how to get to the point to edit files like .pac's and others.

 

I got the save game file on my usb stick, i can extract the sav.dat using lefluffie but from there i am lost I got the extracted sav.dat, what do i do next?

 

Any help is greatly appreciated!

To do texture mods you dont edit the savedata.dat you edit the files in the game.

And how does a person do that? Make a copy of the disc to my computer?

Dude I am so frustraded! I have been looking and looking for tutorials explaining everything or bits and pieces I can understand to try to piece it all together but I am having great difficulty thus far.

If I ever do figure it all out I swear I will sit and write a end all be all on how to mod for begginers that everyone will link to.

I just got to figure all this out for myself.. I need help man.

Download an ISO of the game from somewhere (I cant tell you where) and then use Xbox Backup Creator - Image Browser to extract the files from the iso.

 

The you can start modding the files but without a RGH/JTAG it will be hard to tell how your mods will come out.
