Newbie question.. but is a JTAG the only acceptable 360 console for mo

.. by which I mean, are there any other modded 360s that can run files from a HDD? I'm assuming that's the reasoning for a JTAG, and I've only just begun to dig into ways to mod a 360. But, I've gathered that there are many other mods besides the JTAG mod....

 

So is it JTAG or nothing (for 360 users).. and if so.. what's the technical reason behind that?

JTAG or RGH they can essentially do the same things.

Gotcha. I wasn't sure if it had to be JTAG.. or if people just said "JTAG" the way they say "Coke" when they mean any kind of soda... (or "Pepsi" if you're CM Punk, I'd imagine).

 

Is the RGH mod the same as the JTAG as far as limitations on the dashboard update? I was considering purchasing a new 360 to go online, and using the one I have now as a modded console.. but the dashboard is up-to-date, so that kinda rules out the JTAG idea.

 

 

EDIT: Been doing my research.. the mods out there are a bit to navigate through, but I've figured out what I'm after at least!
