Trying to jailbreak a PS3... could use help plz

I hope this is the right section.. I have a 2nd PS3 now, & would like to jailbreak it, but I do not know how to go about it. I believe it has the newest software, so I don't know if it's possible. thanks ahead of time!

If your PS3 has the newest software, you need to buy a hardware flasher and downgrade to firmware 3.55. You can only downgrade pre superslim PS3's, look at this tutorial http://www.ps3hax.net/2011/10/tutorial-install-e3-flasher-on-ps3/ there is a compatibility list.

 

If your PS3 s not on that list, you need to buy an ODE chip http://www.cobra-ode.com/ or http://www.3k3y.com/

 

In any case you need to spend some Money.

There's also people advertising to do it for you on craigslist, you might save yourself $50+. You don't need the flashers after you're all set up so you might as well use someone elses.
