well i agree too.. i totally agree with you 100%  wwe 12 had 2 patches wwe13 had 1 but there was nothing ever discussed on what was fixed but still i agree we shouldn't have to deal with all the isues

At the very least, if they decide to keep the same engine and system, they need to fix all these glitches.  They need to isolate the problems from 2k14, address them one-by-one, and then start the process of updating the character models.  Once they take care of the bugs and glitches, then everything else would be perfect.  Also, I wouldn't mind keeping the same engine if they modified the grapple system to look more realistic instead of chaining them together which looks kind of weird.  Maybe new and more fluid animations for each position would sharpen the graphic animations up?  My biggest problem with these games are the massive amount of glitch frequency since the debuted the "predator engine" with WWE '12.  Wasn't that new engine used to IMPROVE these glitch issues??

from my understanding the predator engine really was just used to remove move warping like the f knuckle shuffle rock bottom austin's elbow etc

Didn't know that, but it doesn't seem like it worked!  In some ways, that engine has set us back especially with regards to table/weapon interaction and other collision issues.  Play SVR 2011 and then play WWE2k14 and you'll notice a big difference, especially in table matches/TLC matches and extreme rules[hardcore] matches.  While the predator engine has given us catching finishers & OMG moments[which are badass, btw], it has overall been more a setback in game progression.  If this engine is kept, it will have to expanded upon and glitch proofed meaning the whole setup of gimmick matches like table/tlc and extreme rules will have to be changed to reflect how a real life match flows.  Example: I was playing an extreme rules match and grabbed a table from under the ring, only to see it was already on fire[i hadn't set it up, just pulled it from under the apron].  How many times do you see this on TV?  These kind of glitches make for facepalm moments and I hope if 2K keeps the current setup they can at least remedy these glitches.  And if a new engine is used this year, maybe it will be tested heavily to prevent these types of issues & glitches from occurring.  They did implement the "predator engine" in a year, so it is quite possible for them to start anew once more.  If not, I'm happy with the current system as long as the bugs are worked out and things keep progressing instead of taking steps backwards like it has been since WWE '12.....

yeah i know and that's one thing i loved about svr11 (although i was sick of them talking about it by the time the game got released) that the physics caused weapons etc to break in different ways, plus the ladder didn't move all over the damn ring

I absolutely HATE the impossible physics glitches like objects moving illogically or two character models moving in the air and then floating back down on the mat 5 seconds later!  I actually thought the games were progressing more up until WWE '12 but since then, it has been progressively more glitches and more steps backwards.  That's why I have been saying if 2K decides to go with a new engine that it wouldn't be such a bad thing.  And if the graphics, commentary, and other features got improved along with the other glitches that wouldn't be such a bad thing either :D

That seems like a very bad rationalization on your part.  I am an old school gamer who believes you should get your money's worth in whatever you buy, which is why I am appalled that so many of today's gamers seem okay with bad games.  I had WWE '12 & WWE '13 and to my knowledge, there was never any "patch" nor should one have to be applied.  It is very simple to me, once you buy a new game for $60 bucks each year there shouldn't have to be a "patch" for it to function properly.  I understand a few glitches as it will happen, but the amount of frequent freezing and weird glitches in WWE2K14 are just ridiculous!  2K is better than this and I hope they can prove that with the next game because if not, I'd probably stop buying these games altogether.  As a wrestling and gaming fan I never thought that was possible but it is getting to be too much, too often.....

I'm an old school gamer just like you man. Im not saying what is going on in the gaming industry with patches iis a good thing at all. That's how it is and has been since online gaming has kicked off. I can't remember the last game I bought that didnt have some sort of patch. Whether it was to tweak something or fix something  or completely get rid of something. This just doesnt apply to wwe games. Trust me I wish everygame released didnt need a patch But I'd rather pay 60bucks for a game that needs a patch and gets one rather than not getting one at all. It's a bit early to see if that will be thae case with 2k14  but if not it should be a lesson learned from everybody.

I think you are missing the point.  What I was saying is that a game should never need a patch, not under any circumstances.  I realize in the digital age we live in, that is impossible with corporate greed taking precedence over quality.  Still, if a game is half assed it shouldn't be released at all.  Look at WWE2k14 for example.  There are so many freezing and glitch issues that it makes an otherwise great game almost not worth playing.  Like I pointed out in this forum many times before, I have been playing WWE games for awhile now.  I started around the time WWF WarZone was released and have been playing them since, which I don't see changing anytime soon.  However, the fact that these games keep having more issues with regards to quality makes me frustrated especially considering that these gaming companies are capable of much higher quality games......
