Sometimes patches take longer, especially since they have other sports games to deal with. It's not like it's as bad as Aliens: Colonial Marines was.

I'm curious, how bad was it?

They showed a game and sold a game that isn´t what they showed. PS2 game in PS3 and 360. But they edited the videos and images to look better than the final product. The real deal.

Look in internet for more info. I think the have to refound the money for cheating the customers.

Sega, Gearbox Sued For Falsely Advertising Aliens: Colonial Marines

Sorry for off topic.

It *might* be taking a while due to the fact that this is in essence a THQ game that they bought the publishing rights to, rather than one of their own games.

It will always be more difficult to modify/fix someone else's software than something you made from scratch yourself.

...oh, and Colonial Marines was truly awful. I was sooooo disappointed by that game!

  • Hello ,

Thank you for contacting 2K Games Support.

We're sorry to hear that you're having issues with one of our titles. Below you will find some Console Troubleshooting steps which may help resolve the issue. These are the official troubleshooting steps provided by Microsoft on their support site:

Before troubleshooting, please check the following:

    1. Turn the console off and on.

    2. Unplug all power cords and accessories, and then plug them back in firmly. Make sure all connections are secure.

    3. Update your console software (this article from Microsoft details how to check if your console software is up to date http://support.xbox.com/en-US/xbox-360/system-updates/system-updates-info)

    Clearing the System Cache:

    1. Press the Guide button on your controller, go to Settings, and select System Settings.

    2. Select Storage or Memory.

    3. Highlight any storage device, and then press Y on your controller.

    4. Select Clear System Cache.

    5. When prompted to confirm storage device maintenance, select Yes.

    Clearing the Game Data:

(Prior to clearing the game data, ensure that you back up any Save Data so it doesn't become deleted)

    1. Press the Guide button on your controller, go to Settings, and select System Settings.

    2. Select Storage or Memory.

    3. Highlight any storage device, and then press A on your controller.

    4. Select Games and Apps.

    5. Scroll through the list until you find the game you want to clear the data, once you find it press A on your controller.

    6. Delete any game related files which are not "save" files, if these files are deleted they cannot be recovered.

    7. Once all of the files have been deleted, go back to the Xbox Dashboard Home.

    8. Reboot the game.

If this is still happening let's try this on a second 360 to see if the same issue is occurring.

    Cheers,

    Chad

I would imagine that there are going to be future patches yes. We here at technical support don't get told what is going to be released in the patches until it's announced to the public. I suggest to keep up with forums and our website for what updates will be getting pushed for each patch.

seriously, what the fuck. picking up this series was an opportunity to make a little more cash. they have very little interest in the series or the product! this is crystal clear. they will continue to patch the NBA games to death, because it's a product the developers have a genuine interest in and have committed themselves to fully.

oh, and by the way, Rooster.. If you have any further questions, feel free to contact them

yeah man i agree that's what i said. they just can't go 50/50 between nba2k and the wwe series.. maybe ea should have gotten the license (and i really do dislike ea for what they did to wcw's games)

Mayhem was Perfect its just the games that followed is what was wrong.

Don't ya miss the old days of gaming companies releasing a game and not needing a patch?  I do....

I sure as hell do. It seems like everything nowadays is just a release first, fix later type of deal. Like Battlefield 4 has been out for well over a month and it's still incredibly broken. I doubt 2K14 will get a patch. 2K have made it pretty clear that the WWE license isn't one of their priorities.

The only problem is that in the "old days" games work as advanced as they are now so they wouldn't need a patch.

Hopefully. I can understand it not being their top priority since it probably doesn't make them near as much money as NBA does, but we should at least be able to get one patch.

Don't get me wrong, I love WWE games and playing them.  I like the yearly features because the updates like catapult finishers, OMG moments, and other additions make the games worth paying to play.  However, if you have to get a "patch", that seems like an incomplete to me.  Gaming companies should never release an incomplete game because it smacks of desperation and greed.  Why make the damn games if you aren't doing it for love of them?  It is obvious WWE values money & sales over product quality which is why we get the same mediocre games each year with limited updates & massive glitch issues that need a patch.  Do them right or don't do them, simple as that really.  Hopefully 2K can fix some of these problems but if history repeats, don't count on it.....

Thats just the current generation of gaming. It's the convienience of being able to patch issues in a game digitally. I think they address priority issues and anything minor they patch later or wait for gamers to complain about it.  It's also is how extensive the beta testing was. Most people in wwe 2k14 are having caw issues but I doubt They tested universe and create a story with tons on caws implented within those modes to see if any freezing occured. There are prons and cons when it comes to patching.

Ok just we know the game is 'incomplete' and needs a patch. Now it's time to get one, but nobody on 2k is opening their fucking mouth.

We cannot do anytthing because modern gaming is like that, but at least we have patches to fix it and they dont bother to say us nothing.

Even though the xbox fee for patches is not there anymore, so they would save some money, they don't bother to do anything.

Anyway i will wait to january to see if this is addressed or not, because seems they're taking a while developing a patch.

Whatever happened to having pride in your product, I have been gaming since C64 and never has this been such a problem until now, companies are willing to release broken games and know that we as consumers will just accept it.

Makes me glad to be a pirate.

That seems like a very bad rationalization on your part.  I am an old school gamer who believes you should get your money's worth in whatever you buy, which is why I am appalled that so many of today's gamers seem okay with bad games.  I had WWE '12 & WWE '13 and to my knowledge, there was never any "patch" nor should one have to be applied.  It is very simple to me, once you buy a new game for $60 bucks each year there shouldn't have to be a "patch" for it to function properly.  I understand a few glitches as it will happen, but the amount of frequent freezing and weird glitches in WWE2K14 are just ridiculous!  2K is better than this and I hope they can prove that with the next game because if not, I'd probably stop buying these games altogether.  As a wrestling and gaming fan I never thought that was possible but it is getting to be too much, too often.....

At the very least, if they decide to keep the same engine and system, they need to fix all these glitches.  They need to isolate the problems from 2k14, address them one-by-one, and then start the process of updating the character models.  Once they take care of the bugs and glitches, then everything else would be perfect.  Also, I wouldn't mind keeping the same engine if they modified the grapple system to look more realistic instead of chaining them together which looks kind of weird.  Maybe new and more fluid animations for each position would sharpen the graphic animations up?  My biggest problem with these games are the massive amount of glitch frequency since the debuted the "predator engine" with WWE '12.  Wasn't that new engine used to IMPROVE these glitch issues??
