nCo2K15 Posted December 10, 2013 Posted December 10, 2013 (edited) I've got the hang of injecting textures and all that now but now I'm interested in learning some more about the other files other than the 000C.pac. I know that 2710.pac is the 3D hair, but how do I go about deleting it from the pach file? Infact, do I need another program to modify those and open them to see what they are? I know I can decompress the BPE files in X-Packer 9 so they show as pac files, but I'm not sure what to do with them after that. Any help would be great! Cheers! - The D Edited December 10, 2013 by nCo2k14 Quote
Smk™ Posted December 10, 2013 Posted December 10, 2013 idk if there's another way but i did this with my punk last year if u wanna make some1 bald first u need to edit textures and need to make him bald then u need to edit normal.dds alpha and delete the hair texture u dont want Quote
tekken57 Posted December 10, 2013 Posted December 10, 2013 You dont need to actually remove the hair object. The normal map has a transparency channel which controls which part of the hair is visible. You can make the hair completely invisible in that way. Take a look at the texturing tutorial on my site to see what I mean. Quote
nCo2K15 Posted December 10, 2013 Author Posted December 10, 2013 Where is the normal.dds located? Quote
Smk™ Posted December 10, 2013 Posted December 10, 2013 its located in 000A.pac extract normal.dds from that same as color.dds then in ps go to channels tab select alpha and edit it Quote
nCo2K15 Posted December 10, 2013 Author Posted December 10, 2013 (edited) Okay, I haven't got it. I edited the main image and removed the raised areas but now the CAW is really shiny and the lighting isn't right. I tried to open the normal.dds file I tweaked and now all of the channels except the alpha channel is showing as just black. Any ideas on what I've done wrong? tekken57 Posted December 11, 2013 Posted December 11, 2013 You've probably saved the file in the wrong dds format. Color = dds 1, normal = dds 5 interpolated alpha. Quote
nCo2K15 Posted December 11, 2013 Author Posted December 11, 2013 I'll give that a shot! Cheers for all the help, man! Quote
