For anyone having trouble with Step 6 of Tekkens Tutorial

Step 6 – Injecting strings into the dlc 3 file
- This final step is to fix the names of the new dlc characters you added, you can leave this out if you are not concerned about the names.
- Open your dlc3 file in Le Fluffie and click the contents tab. You need to replace two files here i.e. the “catalog_hd.arc” file in the “info” folder. You also need to replace the “string_dlc03.pac” file in the “pac” folder.

- After replacing these files, click on the security tab. Make sure that “Sign for dev live” is selected and then click on “fix.”

- Copy the dlc 3 file to your xbox.

I suggest injecting instead of replacing the files in the DLC when I tried replacing I would get a crash on loading.

i have one question about using internal entrance editor to asign entrance music.

Tekken said that if we use the internal editor entrance we loose the trons.

If  we loose the trons can we asign again editong the savefile with xpacker?

thanks

Make a backup of your save and then try it.

I didn't realize Elizabeth was there, till I checked the DLC again after selecting a diva match. It looks like my only prob so far is the 2 Shamrocks in my list.

Ok I redid DLC 3 injecting instead of replace as Red Rooster suggested & my original dlc 3 file is now working. This is the list I see when I got into the DLC menu in order (Not including the Normal DLC in the list Warrior/Taker or NWO/Outsiders Pack)

DDP

Rikishi

Mr. Fuji

Ken Shamrock

Mr. Perfect

Farooq

Bradshaw

Mike Tyson

Ken Shamrock (2 But Same version as first)

Road Dogg

Billy Gunn

Farooq (2 But Same version as first)

Scotty 2 Hotty

Grand Master Sexay

Hawk

Animal

Vader

Booker T

Bobby Heenan

Mankind

In Divas DLC Menu

Ms. Elizabeth

I didn't notice the second Farooq till just now. Other than the 2 doubles I am having no probs so far with anything else.

Yeah I have 2 Farooqs and 2 Shamrocks but only in the list where you choose your player, in Universe there is only one of each listed so not a problem

Ok i injected the files into dlc3 instead of replacing and it worked.  Only issue is those 2 duplicates but besides that its working fine  ;)

Edit: just realized i have other issues... Road Dogg's display name is Billy Gunn and there is no Billy Gunn. Also Mike Tyson's name is Shamrock and the other Shamrock name is Road Dogg

I dont have any Farooq's

you know what i never went and downloaded the dlc 3 with the outsiders could that be why mine is different?

I haven't noticed two Shamrocks and two farooqs in my game, wil check again this evening. That issue could be as a result of two wrestlers having the same selection menu number. Open you save using the wrestler info option. Double click the slot containing the new dlc characters and make sure that all have a valid select screen menu number. Two wrestlers should not have the same number.

To be safe I usually add 1000 to the slot number to get the select menu number. e.g. slot 105 will be 1105.

Another thing, double check that you have injected the wreslter info into the correct slots in x-packer.

@gamingsinceatari. I am using the Outsiders dlc, haven't tried the other dlc 3 pack. That could be the issue, test with the Outsiders dlc and let me know if it works.

@motishow , if you edit the entrances in game, the reference to your hacked trons will be gone. So edit using the in game menu. then open your save in x-packer using the movesets option. Double click the slot and then set your entrance movie to the slot you are editing e.g. if you editing slot 105, change the value of your entrance movie to 105 . Your hacked tron will then load.

Just tested it with the outsiders dlc, same issues. No billy gunn or farooq and a couple names are wrong like i stated in the other post.  Hmmmm...

Ok so we've eliminated the dlc being the cause of the problem. Check the slot numbers and menu select numbers in the save like I mentioned above.

It took me two attempts, but have now also got the DLC working !

( thanks so much Tekken57 )

The only issue I had was with Le Fluffie apparently corrupting my save file.

I got it to work by completely closing down Le Fluffie after initially extracting the file, then re-opening it after editing and Replacing rather than Injecting it back.

[ I also rehashed/resigned with Modio, which may or may not have been necessary, but I gave it a shot just in case ]

I also have a pair of Shamrocks and Faarooqs, but I can live with that.

I've had a go with Story mode (last year's game gave me problems with Story mode when I had added attires) and it works fine with the modded DLC characters, although oddly they appear out of sequence in the wrestler select list:

  • Regular roster
  • Regular DLC
  • CAWs
  • Modded DLC

Again, hardly a game breaker.

Finally, they modded DLC doesn't show up in Superstar threads - but then I am pretty sure that Tekken already said that would be the case elsewhere on these boards.

Just to end on a question - which ch... number is the Mr Perfect model? I'd like to switch him with one of the Curt Hennig->Mr Perfect Mods that are being shared?

Thanks again to all!

I wonder if the duplicates are a result of injecting strings into the dlc3 file.

I decided to not change the names yet, so I skipped it, and I don't seem to have any duplicates in my selection menu.

I don't know if this means anything at all, but I noticed while checking the wrestler info just now as Tekken suggested for the select screen numbers. that some but not all of the added  files in the wrestler info have "DLC Pack 2 selected" I also didn't notice any duplicate select screen numbers, but if anyone else does let me know if I missed them.

Not all the wrestler info files will have dlc 2 selected. I had to change strings for some of the normal wrestlers ie triple h, taker etc because I used their long names for the dlc characters.

So the wrestler info for 102 (triple h) 103 (taker) etched fixes this

Ah ok makes sense then, I just finished looking through all of the Wrestler Info in my save using Xpacker & it seems all in order with the select unless I missed something.  I am going to wait and see if anyone else finds anything about the duplicate characters, before I use one of the backups saves I made & reinject the wrestler info files.

I haven't done it yet, so I'm going to Inject into the dlc 3 file (to change names) and see if I come up with the duplicates in the select menu.

Was it determined that injecting rather than replacing the dlc3 in LeFluffie worked better?

injecting worked for me, replacing just kept freezing my game.

I would make backups & try both.

Ok, just got home and checked my game. I also have duplicate Shamrocks and Farooq's. Checked the wrestler info and the slots are fine, the selection screen numbers are also correct.

Strangely enough the duplicates don't appear in the 6 man modes. Plus the duplicates both have the same id so you can't have shamrock vs shamrock. The problem could be with the nWo dlc and the strings file which is injected into it.

Anyways, minor issue for me.

Didn't had time to add the DLC yet (just got my serial and I'm at the job) but I have a few questions.

- I known that there is no entrance commentary but how do the commentators refer to the added wrestlers during a match?

- Also what are the winning animations? Are they all the same (a generic one)?

- Is there a way to import them? (like DDP winning animation for xemple)

I hope those questions don't sound too stupid
