RichieL1991 Posted November 10, 2013 Posted November 10, 2013 (edited) This is in my FTW! (Fantasy Team Wrestling) story mode/universe whatever you want to call it. Anyways who got the pin!? p.s. they were on the same team anyways. Skip to: 6:15 for the moment Edited November 11, 2013 by RichieL1991 Quote
MarvstaX Posted November 10, 2013 Posted November 10, 2013 Had this happen a few times in my universe, even had the same thing happen but with people of opposing tag teams getting the pins, which then lead to a cut scene with the two who got the pins then had a 1 vs 1 match to determine which team would win. Only feedback is, your commentary is really annoying I mean, REALLY annoying. Your stale, bland and no real effort put to it, I mean, you sounded the same during the entrances as you did for the double pin finish. No extra excitement in your voice etc. Personally, I'd prefer to have watched it, without your voice over.. But that's just my opinion. The ending was still cool though. Quote
Smacktalks Posted November 10, 2013 Posted November 10, 2013 I've had that happen to me a few times in the past. It'd be cool if they added a trigger so if multiple pins begin within the same second the ref positions himself in-between them and has a double count animation. Quote
RichieL1991 Posted November 10, 2013 Author Posted November 10, 2013 (edited) The double pin animation would be sick! I think I sounded like I was whispering because I was too far away from the mic, I didnt edit the audio correctly, or it was hard just doing the solo commentating for the first time. The rest of them I did with other co-hosts. I got a new mic. instead of using the crappy webcam mic i used to. I was def. not whispering though - the same thing happens in the Royal Rumble match I recorded. I literally screamed that whole match and you can barely hear me because I was too far away from the mic. (but we did live recording for it, so I didnt want to edit) Check that out if you'd like. Thanks a bunch for mentioning that !!! I will have to work on the audio, and my emphasis on certain situations! Royal Rumble: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3gBAwt-kJb0 Everyone is so loud - but me (the one screaming!) lol Edited November 10, 2013 by RichieL1991 Quote
MarvstaX Posted November 11, 2013 Posted November 11, 2013 Yeah it did sound like whispering which as I mentioned, gave it a stale sound but if it was due to distance/crappy mic, then that's understandable. Let us know when you've got new vids up with use of new mic etc and I'll give new feedback etc cause for me, if people upload matches/stories onto YouTube and are doing voice overs... Then I have a certain expectation of what I want to hear. Too many people genuinely are just bland and have no emotion Quote

jitz Posted November 11, 2013 Posted November 11, 2013 You're clearly afraid of looking like a crazy person to someone in your house, or the neighbourhood. The commentary is spoken in such a hush tone (even the newer Cap America v Darth Vader vid), it's like you're mentally stopping yourself from going to excited and loud because someone might hear you. I love your league thing though, A bunch of random characters from different properties, it's hilarious. Captain America v Darth Vader, it's genius, Quote
RichieL1991 Posted November 11, 2013 Author Posted November 11, 2013 Hmmm.. thats so strange. It has to just be my voice then - Im not whispering, but Im not screaming either. I'm loud enough were I can be heard. It's something I'll have to work on with time. I don't blame anyone I wouldn't want to listen to a bland voice either. Damn if only I had my brothers loud echoing energetic voice lol (who commentates in some of the other matches). I guess I will experiment with different "announcer voices" until I find the best one. Thanks for the feedback - it really helps, and your interest in the league hahahaha yeah i love using these characters!! Quote
MarvstaX Posted November 11, 2013 Posted November 11, 2013 Okay I just watched the two new videos and here's my feedback on them: 1) If you're going to do commentary, don't bother reading out Promo's due to how it just makes everything sound the same. I mean, it'd be good if you could at least change your voice slightly to accommodate temporarily speaking for the other characters, but otherwise it takes away from it. 2) Following on from 1, if you do want to do voice overs for all characters, you should really try to get a few other people to help out with voices. You mentioned your brother has done some commentary for you before. Perhaps ask him to do some voice overs? 3) When you actually do the commentary, I'll admit, it's solid dialogue, it's good that you try to incorporate the play by play with what's happening later in the episode/future episodes. Good work on that. Only thing would be, PAUSES!!! 4) Expanding on the end of 3. Pauses. At times, less can be more. In this case, less talking, more silence. In that first video, there was very little time where you did not talk. The biggest pause was at the end of the match. Same with the second one. 5) Noticed in the second video there seemed to be a bit of delay in what your said to what happened on screen (Example, Sub Zero picked up Green Ranger, tossed him into the ring then dropped the arm over GR's chest. Yet your commentary had everything behind by about 2 seconds throwing it out of whack, dunno if that happened in editing or if you genuinely Anyway, I'm glad you understand that the feedback isn't an attack at your ability but is intended as constructive feedback, shows you are open to the feedback which is something not a lot are. Also just an observation most of these characters also appear in the, Bat In The Sun - Superpower Beatdown lol Quote
RichieL1991 Posted November 11, 2013 Author Posted November 11, 2013 Yeah the criticism is great - would only make my videos more enjoyable, and ensure I'm not wasting anytime making them! 1) Agreed 2) I was thinking the same thing about not reading them, since there are so many characters. It will probably be more beneficial to comment as the announcer to what they say 3) Okay cool!! I was worried pauses would take away - glad I know this now, because I can focus on the bigger attacks and probably put more emphasis into them. Instead of trying to talk non-stop throughout the match and running my mouth dry lol. 4) Agreed - Less is more 5) I noticed that too! I think it was me genuinely because on some of the parts I was on and others I was off, like when Vader got thrown into the post lol. I'll will just work on the editing with that Thanks again for the feedback - the pauses will definitely help!! I will probably say less during the entrances and let people observe them. I should be able to put more emphasis on the match now without having to speed talk. Sweet I will have to check into the Bat In The Sun - I briefly saw one video of what they did because It showed up when I uploaded my Spawn CAW video. I think it was Spawn vs. Deadpool - pretty interesting (Is this good or bad? HAHA) Quote
MarvstaX Posted November 12, 2013 Posted November 12, 2013 Yeah there's no real need to read them unless able to have distinguishable voices for them, otherwise just read it over in your head at a decent pace then move on to the next bit of speech etc. The pauses are just my own opinion. Like, I don't mean be quiet for minutes at a time, but just like 5 - 10 second breaks etc. It allows the viewer to focus more on the match, and for you to as you say, focus on the main parts of the match instead of trying to mention every little thing. Lol you can use the breaks to have some water!!! There's Batman Vs. Deadpool is that the one you saw? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wAg2m5UlBYw&feature=c4-overview&list=UUZQPsy92dpejcCJfZDbp__Q Quote
RichieL1991 Posted November 12, 2013 Author Posted November 12, 2013 Nah it was this one! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ARq_2duhIGU Spawn v Kratos (lol not sure why I said deadpool) Another interesting one I will have to check out is Goku vs. Superman LOL Im a big DragonBall guy - so that should be interesting Quote
MarvstaX Posted November 12, 2013 Posted November 12, 2013 Ahh okay, well when you said Deadpool I looked for that one since I'd seen it. Hadn't even checked for a Spawn one lol. But yeah check them all out, it's a fun little series they got going. Quote
RichieL1991 Posted November 12, 2013 Author Posted November 12, 2013 Sweet - will do. I'll let you know how it is when I post an update on any new matches in my universe ! Quote

RichieL1991 Posted November 14, 2013 Author Posted November 14, 2013 Took the advice on pauses - tried to speak more clearly. I think the whispering sound is because I breathe heavy when I talk - it can still sound that way, but i think this video shows signs of me putting on more emphasis especially after the 5 min mark, at least imo Raiden vs Mr Freeze https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AqBIslCQ5XI&feature=c4-overview-vl&list=PLX3jjUfAIic-iU2MlRiy2120DjV-zJHEl Quote
