King Paulie Posted November 14, 2013 Posted November 14, 2013 Whats with the guy whos defending Cory in this thread with all his might? Lol..I was never the "oh my gawddd, Cory Ledesma you've ruined my gameee!!" type. But after all the years of playing these games since Smackdown on the PS1, I realize that there were some good decisions and bad decisions made. And recently, many of Cory's decisions have produced some rather lackluster results, therefore if he's gone, great. That opens the doors to a lot more possibilities with the next game. IF he truly is gone though, I highly doubt 2k will have that hard of time recreating a proper wrestling sim. They're great at doing it with other forms of sports, therefore I have confidence they'll make it as realistic as can be along with the stellar gameplay 2k games are known for. And now that we're almost certain Yukes will be back, 2k still has the core game engine. Though that too, needs to be changed and completely overhauled. TL;DR: 2k's got this. Mercurius Posted November 15, 2013 Posted November 15, 2013 I think there's a good explanation why Cory Ledesma's not going to talk about WWE Games/2K Games:WWE 2K14 started out as a THQ game, sometime before WWE '13 was released. During development, THQ went Chapter 11 before Christmas 2012, sold its properties in the months of January and February 2013. The reason why 2K got the WWE Games guys from THQ was for them to finish WWE 2K14, under the guidelines THQ was given to them before going under. It's only after 2K14's release that 2K's guidelines went into effect for future projects, hence WWE 2K15 onward. In other words, if Cory was fired, he would've said "my time at 2K is over" or something like that. iamthedoctor Posted November 16, 2013 Posted November 16, 2013 https://twitter.com/RealCoryLedesma Go to his twitter, read his recent tweets Does this mean we can expect him to jump the Miz on WWE TV so he can continue his ongoing feud with him? Quote
Sir Flash™ Posted November 16, 2013 Posted November 16, 2013 To be quite honest, Ledesma never struck me as a wrestling/entertainment fan and he was just some oblivious guy working on a video game. He doesn't seem to have the people skills required when dealing with wrestling fans, so this is good news. I personally thought the first couple of Yukes/THQ games that were released before Cory joined the team were better and had more effort in them. As for Yukes being rumored to be leaving as well, that could be a blessing in disguise. Think about it: fans have been asking for a new game engine for years and now, if this is true, we may get just that. Besides everyone knew going into this year's game[WWE2K14] that we were probably getting more of the same with maybe some updates. With WWE2K15, we may just get that overhaul and a complete re-working of WWE games altogether which will be a nice step in the right direction. Especially with 2K's attention to detail, we might just get the upgrade into the next generation that WWE fans have been wanting in wrestling games. I too, liked the old system but it is about due an update and critical changes need to be made in order to keep these games as realistic and as fun as possible. You do know yukes is under contract for a few years, than they will have no jobs. Remember back in april, that was the deal. Yukes are to train 2k employers and once they do, they are gone. So not much of a rumor, it is actually news. Quote

iamthedoctor Posted November 17, 2013 Posted November 17, 2013 I dunno if we will get a patch for all these bugs. Ive not had one update for the game come up. Other game franchises have had patches within 3 days of a release if something is wrong. THQ were lousy in regards to patching something unless it was something we actually used like the blur trick so I guess it will depend if 2K do fix it. Quote
BrotchMrToast Posted November 17, 2013 Posted November 17, 2013 Prediction: 2k just finished WWE 2k14 last second and now is fully concentrating on 2k15, which will be the first 100% 2k Wrestling game. I doubt 2k will go back to 2k14 for anything exceot for maybe releasing the DLCs. Quote
dan87 Posted November 17, 2013 Posted November 17, 2013 But it's their responsibility to fix stuff with this game. At least some updates and fixes with the december dlc. Quote

King Paulie Posted November 17, 2013 Posted November 17, 2013 It's their responsibility to fix actual issues with the game, like glitches that happen for the majority. However its not their responsibility to fix every little issue an individual complains about, which it seems like is what those types of people actually want. Quote

I don't see how you don't have much faith off of one game they can't get to be as good as The Show. For gameplay and realism I will trust 2k/take two like no other. Their online servers are another issue in itself but it's not nearly as bad as THQ's horrible netcode. As far as the original topic. It sucks to see he no longer works there but these guys seem to latch on elsewhere pretty fast. I've seen it many times recently with a lot of different developers. I guarantee he will be a part of a newly formed dev team in the near future. Edited February 15, 2014 by tkillaz17 Quote
