HarlotEffect Posted November 4, 2013 Posted November 4, 2013 Yeah so i'm thinking at somepoint of getting an HD capture card. (Although keeping my composite/S-Video too.) I dunno what one to get these are my specs: **I don't have the room/money to have a desktop PC** Quote
Righteous Posted November 4, 2013 Posted November 4, 2013 I run my El Gato off my laptop with no problems. I really like the El Gato. My Laptop is an 09 Dell, with an Intel Core 2. Quote
EnigmaticArtist Posted November 5, 2013 Posted November 5, 2013 I would recommend an Elgato or a Roxio Game Capture HD Pro. Quote
HarlotEffect Posted November 5, 2013 Author Posted November 5, 2013 I would recommend an Elgato or a Roxio Game Capture HD Pro. Roxio is cheaper but i've been told it's total shit. Quote
EnigmaticArtist Posted November 6, 2013 Posted November 6, 2013 Your thinking of the first Roxio. I'm talking about this. Quote
Darth 6am3r Posted November 6, 2013 Posted November 6, 2013 Elgato, you even get a free HDMI port. Quote
HarlotEffect Posted November 8, 2013 Author Posted November 8, 2013 Well I'd prefer whichever one would work with my laptop. Cause I'm not wasting over £100 and it not working right. Since I would like to use it for future Let's Plays as well. Quote

Ballard Posted November 9, 2013 Posted November 9, 2013 Your thinking of the first Roxio. I'm talking about this. That's what I have and I think it's just as good quality wise as the bigger name devices. I'm running it off of a shitty laptop too. Only downside is the meh editing software and occasional screen tearing. Quote

Didn't see your post there, Paul! Yes, that's the first one, the quality doesn't look to good, the HD Pro has WAY better quality. HarlotEffect Posted November 13, 2013 Author Posted November 13, 2013 Yeah the HD pro has an HDMI port, and the original only has component. Quote
fufu ÷ Posted November 14, 2013 Posted November 14, 2013 I love my Elgato. The only downside I have with it is that there's a minor delay from what you see on your TV and what you see on your computer screen. It's only really a problem as I prefer to have my refs right next to the screen capture software when making CAWs. Other than that, the quality is great, the software is good, and the flashback recording is very handy. Quote
